How to upload custom pictures on Steam Screenshots?
Hello people,
One day I saw a guy with this picture as Screenshot (It is 10x Larger. This is a short one):

It is:

1.96 MB (2.056.192 Bytes)

X: 434
Y: 25606

It had no borders when I saw it on the Steam Profile. It took me 10 Seconds to scroll the page to the end which is very much.
I want to upload it too *-*
But can someone explain me how?
I tried it myself, but steam somewhy dont want to take the picture ;-;
I tried to resize it to ~1.5MB and it worked but it looked crappy as Shi*
Would someone help me to get the 2 MB one on my Profile? (I made the other screenshots on Private so it can be seen on my Steam Profile)

Considering I found a fair few tutorials on that very Google search, I'm surprised you performed a search and didn't find your answer.

here's what I have done...
take a screenshot of anything, creating a new one on your drive, then use any image editor to open the image you want and 'save as...', overwriting the screenshot you just took (using the same file type as the one you're overwriting, usually .jpg ?). refresh your screenshots page and it should show up.

"There has been an error at 1 Screenshot. The Steam Cloud is probably not online now"
Am i doing something wrong? i did KillerB's method.
I did a screenshot>Clicked on "show offline screenshots"> Opened the picture with MSPaint>Pasted the Large picture i wanted> Saved as 2013-04-14_00008>Closed my Steam Windows> Go back to my Profle> Looked at Screenshots>Upload Screenshot> uploaded the "not in Steam Cloud" one, because the others were in steam cloud. I can do a video on YT if you dont understand :D

In my method I never actually open the screenshot image, rather I open the image I want as my screenshot and then save it as the filename of the screenshot I want it to replace, overwriting/replacing it...
So, open the image you want to save as your new screenshot in mspaint, select 'Save As...' and make sure the type is set to .jpg (same type as the screenshot you're replacing) then locate the screenshots folder and enter 2013-04-14_00008.jpg for the filename to save it as.
If this doesn't work it may have something to do with the encoding method mspaint uses. I use PaintShopPro and it works fine.

I was just doing this for my profile: you need to restart steam for steam to recognize the new versions of the files

Found another way, upload an Artwork to a game and put it on your showcase :D
