Steam not working?
Hey guys. I don't know if it's just something wrong with my computer or what, but every time i try and open steam, it tells me that steam is offline and asks if i want to check the status of steam online. Got any suggestions?

Make sure your firewall, anti-virus or router aren't blocking the connection to Steam.

If they aren't, follow the instructions in this Support Article and see if this fixes your issue: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3134-TIAL-4638

i did and it still didn't help. i even completely uninstalled my security system to try and get it to work :(

Just got past that myself. I went into my firewall settings and viewed my allowed programs. For some reason, it had Steam checked as allow for private and home network, but not public. Checked it, and it works now. Hopes this helps,

I bought a new modem and router and it seemed to help so I guess it was something wrong with my old router.
