M&B Warband Crashes When I press Anything!

i recently spent the majority of the money in my steam wallet on the game Mount&Blade Warband. When i launch it it says i need to type in the CD key at a later point so i copy it to clipboard. When the game loads and comes up with the menu with the options such as tutorial, start a new game, load a game if i press anything the entire game crashes. This has happened every time and I dont know why. It could be it is crashing because it doesn't have the activation key but i never see anywhere to type it in. I don't think its my computer's quality because i'v seen someone with a worse computer run it. Does anyone have any advice or know how i can get a refund if nothing works?
