Disc dosen't really matter anymore if they game have gotten patches/updates. You could say that you could only download from the disc when the game first came out.

Go to Steam - Settings
Then the Downloads tab.
Click on the "Steam Library Folders" under "Content Libraries".

Make sure your game installation location is in that list. This has happened in the past when people install games on second drives, or anywhere that is not the Default location.

Make sure your game installation location is in that list. This has happened in the past when people install games on second drives, or anywhere that is not the Default location. It should say "E:\Steam"

That is not the default install location, so it is likely that a glitch reset your Library location.

Try running a game from inside your Steam folder (not through Steam).
It should discover the files and add them to your library.

Read the thread? Think for a second. Show steam the game location.

Yes I did, but Civ 5 just brings up the download popup even when I try and open it from the actual Steam folder and Garrys Mod just loads it but it still doesnt show up the setam library.
