Unless the scammer is willing to give it back, the two of you are out of luck. No one here can help you get your items back. The person that got scammed should report the scammer via their profile ("More" > "Report Violation") and take this as a lesson learned. You and your friend should also read up on the Steam Trading Policy.

It was most likey someone pretending to be and was used as a middleman against Steam's policy.
