Steam keeps updating the same update
The October 23, 2012 update keeps popping up on my steam, like once a day. It's getting annoying.
"- Fixed installing DLC in some cases (eg Sims3)"

Anyone know how to fix this? Seems like it just won't update properly. When I click "Check for steam client update" it doesn't find any new updates, but come the next day I get the popup for the same update I got yesterday, and the day before.

If you're in the beta, you get beta updates, which are not posted in the regular client update notes.

Just hit cancel. It's as easy as that.

If you don't want updates DO NOT OPT INTO THE BETA

The poitn of a beta is to find issue and update frequently. If you don't want frequent updates don't be part of the beta.

You guys are missing the point. It's the SAME update, popping up every day despite having been "installed" numerous times.

It's not the same update...

The beta update logs and the stable client update logs are kept seperate for obvious reasons. The beta update log can be found here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/bigpicture/discussions/1/882960080226288045/

The update is labeled "October 23." There are no Oct 23 updates in that list of beta updates. If they want to give me a Nov 29 update please label it as such. Hardly a big deal.

It's not hard to understand, even when I incorrectly spell "separate".

Just to clarify, though, as apparently it is:
October 23rd is the last update to the STABLE CLIENT.
November 29th is the BETA CLIENT.

You have to restart Steam for the update to take effect. Just a thought as some people never manually close Steam.
