This game sucks! Not going to play it any more. To much time spent building up a nation and army just to be completly destroyed by someone you trusted and had a friendly relationship with.

Obviously you're not playing the game right. Maybe tone down the difficulty a bit.

... or crush them ;)

Or play Fallen Enchantress instead. The AI is both better and more reasonable. Could also try Civ 4.

I always find this funny - when the AI plays like a human (backstabs you) people will complain about it. Its quite a funny thing and makes game design much harder

The AI in Civ5 does indeed play like a human. The kind you meet in mental hospitals.

HAHA He has been offline for 75 days? Rage Quit? What would you expect from a "user" that has a whopping 18.6 hours of game play under his belt and from the looks of it no Civ4 history.
