Windows 8 steals buttons

I ogt a new Windows 8 computer but f2 and all after those are auto binded to stuff you don't need or can acess through a different menu a lot of games use f4 to do stuff. (Gmod,TF2 Mann vs Machine mode) how do you unbind those keys so they can be used again?

Are you using a laptop? If so, hold the "FN", or "function" key when trying to use the F1 to F12 buttons.

If you don't want to have to hold the fn-key everytime, there should be a toggleable option in your BIOS settings that switches the operation to require you to instead hold in the fn-key for the alternative custom function binds.
