Steam: Games going from Windows to Linux
I am really excited about SteamOS, however, I have alot of games for windows. I have seen a lot of news of publishers wishing to support a linux platform, but, if I purchased the windows version of a game say through Steam will I once again have to purchase it for windows? If that is the case then it will create a significant roadblock.

The majority of games use Steamplay, which is where you buy it for one OS and it will let you play it on any other supported OS without having to buy it again. The only exceptions to this I am aware of is with the Call of Duty series, although there may be others.

On the store page, look for the Steamplay icon just above the "add to cart" button.

Thank you I thought that was the case. I am though still curious about non steam games as DICE have expressed interest in placing the BF series on Steam OS. As much as we hate EA, Origin represents a significant market.

I'd hate to pay all over again to EA
