Maybe you have a virus or malware infection!?
I recommend GFI VIPRE for already infected machines.

Press [WinKey]+[Pause/Break] to view system specs.
Or if you don't understand keys go to:
Control Panel \ System and Security \ System

There should be a Windows Experience Index, which leads to a "View and print detailed performance and system information" link.
