Report Button for every release?! This is the proof that...
Steam has NO quality control at all anymore.
Steam will just release EVERYTHING- EVERY game that wants to get released here, get´s Steams OK! This fits perfectly with the fact that Greenlight is about to get shut down.

Steam is handing the quality control in every matter to the players.
AFTER a product gets released.

Good: Now we have the power to get broken, unfished, filth games away from steam.

Bad: 85% of all gamers play junk thankfully and say: "When the games costs only 20% of an full price title it is ok if it´s only 20% fun." So...... those terrible games won´t get deleted at all.
And even if, many players will step into the trap and blindly download junk-games before they get deleted.

Please let us discuss about the topic.

Funfact:
Valve said last year (and maybe the year before) already that they want to make it easier for developers to release their games on Steam, and that they only want to provide the store platform for it.

Steam is not the QA department for game developers. They never have been. they never will be. The report function doens't change the way things used to be, to how they will be.

And who are you to call others names or even judge games just because YOU don't like them? Don't buy the games you don't like and be gone. Grow up and learn how to start a discussion.

If you don't want people to 'discuss' your topic, go make a whining blog post instead.

Reporting a bad game or not even let it get online here on steam will prevent the public from it, since not everyone is aware of their waste of time and money.

So it is a good example. If you talk with people about a party that is bad for them you prevent them for voting for it and in the end you prevent them from suffering from their choice.

If you report games it is a public duty. You prevent the unknowing from suffering.

We are on the Internet. If you can't do a few minutes worth of research on a game you can only blame yourself.

Don't be so patronizing. I am perfectly capable of making my own decisions. Anyone who isn't shouldn't be on the Internet.

If you report a game just because you don't like it, you are abusing the system.

You're already advocating the abuse of the reporting system. Great yet another tool wasted upon the unwashed uneducated masses. Tag trolling was apparently not good enough was it?

Valve have never really cared that much for publishers abusing customers, I mean how many times have we been messed around by games like Alien?

This way they can just take the same approach to complaints as Google does to copyright, take a step back and let it police itself.
Eek! Mar 18 @ 12:56pm
It was nice when Valve/Steam was a little smaller and less unwieldy; there was a vague semblance of quality assurance back then. Now it seems that users almost have to get burned in order to warn others a product isn't completely up to snuff; not so much a problem with AAA or generally more well known games where they're covered on the internet, but there are so many on here now not even professional reviews will be able to scan through them all to any large degree.

A bad game is one thing, a broken one (semi or no) is another and has no business being on the client.

actually, more or less, yes, they've said as much for a long time now. are you surprised or something? they don't care anymore - they have a huge enough base, now it's just the more crap they can cram in the better. I personally would rather play indie titles than so called AAA any day, but early access and some other things around here are a complete joke.
Vampire Mar 18 @ 1:23pm
The more this "crappy" by your opinion games get to steam and are bought by many people at low prices, high company games which are good will have no choice than to lower their game price as well.

This is the dilema.
A producer will be happy if he gets a lot of money.
A customer will be happy if he pays very little.

But there is more customers than it will ever be producers so it's fair that customer has some control over the price.

With that reasoning i could report games like Dota2 etc, because i think that are bad games and a waste of time....

Valve/Steam never cared if the games they sell on Steam are bad.
In the early years they only let better know publishers/games on steam to get the people interested in Steam...which we all know, worked (for the good or bad)

You act like Alien:CM invented bad games, as if bad games did not exist before Steam. As if every game before steam was a magical wonderland of awesomeness and you could pick any game off the shelf and it would be incredible.

Of course not it was just an example of them doing nothing about it when we get messed about, but since Steam became a thing the quality of games has gone down and down to the point where they don't even trust their own games anymore with early access.
