Steam Awards. Really?
Really Valve? Don't you have enough money already? And are Awards really still a thing? Arent they morsly just industy ppl circle jerking each other? And getting even more money from the winning entires? Theiyre also popularity contests The usual suspects will get all the awards. Will this have an actual award event? With iJustine as hostess?

Steam Award Categories
These categories are problematic. A game may have some excellent thing about it that deserves to be rewarded, but the people voting for it may not intuitively agree on which category the element to be awarded fits into, leading to the votes being split and the game losing out.

The games I want to support fit under almost every category. :x

It's just for fun. Enjoy it or ignore it, but don't worry too much about it.

exactly, it's just for the mainstream cuck press to have sumthing to headline about.

I for one am glad they're doing a community event again. I don't really care what kind of event it is, I certainly don't care what games win (of course it's a popularity contest!), I'm not going to waste time worrying about "what it all means". Enjoy it or ignore it, your choice.

i think award winners may get better deals during the winter sale.

lets see how the publishers react to the awards.

Also, the awards give the mainstream cuck press free click-thru visits with headlines like "This and that game picked up several nomination with the new Steam Awards, etc." They get ad money, the award receivers get more sales, Valve gets more money.

i agree
for example life is strange could be nominated for “I'm Not Crying, There's Something In My Eye” and “Whoooaaaaaaa, dude!” awards

And ppl cry again,

Geese almighty, nothing is ever good
I welcome these events, not nearly as good as the old days when we had new in game achievements during the sales, but at least there is something for the coomunity, and not a red herring.
