What a fantastic shoot-'em-up!
This game's campaign is excellent with fantastic gore and storyline, it will keep you extertained until the very end of the campaign. Once you finish the campaign, there is also a Multiplayer option where players can compete against one and other, but I haven't played Multiplayer yet, so I cannot review it.
The way the game works is by killing multiple enemies and earning "Skill Points". These skill points can then be spent on weapons, ammo and upgrades for your different weapons. To earn these points you can kill enemies in different ways by looking at the challenges and completing them to earn the points reward. The movement is fluid and fast-paced, however there is not much liberty in this field. For example, there is not a button for jumping and when you wish to jump down from things, that function is also not there either. The shooting is accurate, fast-paced and fun which means that you can shoot with ease. Also, the aiming down the sights on some weapons is very well detailed and every shot you fire, whilst shooting down your sights, is guaranteed to hit an enemy.
I was running this game with these specs:
AMD FX-4300 Processor at 3.8GHz
AMD R7 250 2GB OC Graphics Card
The frame rate was always very stable and I had no issue at all with any frame rate loss. Any modern computer from mid-2012 to the present day should run this game with no issues, but make sure that you check the minimum system requirement to see whether your computer can run Bulletstorm. The graphics are very nice at High (the highest setting, there is no Ultra setting) and like I said before, hardly any frame rate drops.
When running this game for the first time, I had to sign into Games for Windows Live and sometimes when trying to run the game through Steam it would not open. By downloading the current version of Games for Windows Live I managed to get the game working, after that you must sign into a Microsoft account (I used the one that I use for my Xbox Live). Steam will pop up telling you the CD Key, when Games for Windows Live asks for it just put the code that Steam provides you with.
I think this game deserves a 8/10 because it has a brilliant storyline and graphics but in my opinion, Games for Windows Live and the lack of liberty of movement lets the game down a little. However, if you like a game that is fast-paced, fun and has an amazing campaign, then this is the game for you!
