I could say the same about your posts.

To be honest, nothing is ever original and everything that is created draws inspiration from somewhere. Maybe the creator of Nightsky (who also made a game called Knytt Stories) really like Limbo so much that he wanted to make his own game in that style? and there is a lot of games that draw inspirations from other games. Take Bioshock for instance. The story in that game feels a bit inspired from the System Shock games. The A.I in that game seems to be somewhat of a helper up until later in the game when it's revealed that she is the bad guy. Same thing in Bioshock 1 where Atlas seems like he is in the same boat as you but then he shows his true colours. It's just my opinion though so take it with a grain of salt

Uh...I've played Limbo and I don't see how it is anything like NightSky... I missed the levels where the ball gets crushed by a bear-trap apparently.

^This.

So just coz it has the art style of limbo, then the game plays like limbo as well?
That means that since Fallout 3 can be played as a fps, then its a call of duty ripoff?

Didnt know so many ignorant brats and trolls lured in these forums ... what a dissapointment.

Worth noting, both games were in development at the same time, though limbo was started first, and released some months before NightSky. Limbo did release an early concept trailer showing its planned art style prior to NightSky's announcement though.

However, NightSky's developer had already used a similar black-silluette art style in areas of popular freeware games even prior to Limbo's concept trailer. It's certainly possible that the trailer may have inspired him to go with a comparable style for his own game, but it's not like he hadn't used that style before.

Trolls aside, having played both games, I think that they are actually pretty similar. They are both short, simple physics puzzle-based platformers that do something new and interesting with their mechanics; the main appeal to both, being the atmosphere, through fantastic graphic style that utilizes contrast, and great audiowork. I mean, obviously the actual mood is totally different between the two, but if you took limbo, added color, and made it peaceful and serene instead of eerie and disturbing, it's not that far off. Not to say that either game copied the other- they are just both great, simple, atmospheric games.

I liked Limbo. (Had it on the PS3) And I've watched my friend play NightSky. Whereas they both have similar art-styles, they are not "the same". I have got a deep hatred for people who slag off indies claiming they're "unoriginal". I call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I've seen a lot of indies which are groundbreaking in style and in gameplay. So go right ahead, call it unoriginal, call it copying, but know that you are wrong in most cases.

there is no linux version of limbo so i don't...
wait... i don't see linux version of this game as well.

The games are totally different, for their atmosphere, their gameplay, their story... Physics puzzles appear in 50% of the indie games nowadays. Most of those games are short as well, and it's not the first time a game uses such a graphic style.
Anyways.
Musicians got their inspiration from someone else, which doesn't obviously mean they are "pieces of crap".

The art style in many indie games is unoriginal now; they mostly (not so much this title) just use "retro" looks, horrible square block pixels because they think it is "cool">
There is a reason my GPU weighs more than the table my PC is on, it's because graphics have come a long way since 1989.
Not to say graphics mean everything, but 1980's graphics suck. They sucked back then and they suck now.
I don't need to see every single shadow from every single blade of grass, but I do want to be able to see the game clearly, it's the 21st century ffs.
