The game works fine up until this point, I can start the first level or earlier scenes and they work fine but here it just lags and makes it unplayable, I see the game move about once every 2-3 seconds for a split second.

Yeah I'm playing the alternate or whatever difficulty and it works fine there, just refuses to work on the normal one
