Watch out for fleet recruiters!
Just a friendly warning to all newcomers. Most fleets will take you in only to kick you out after you've helped contribute something to them. To avoid these dangers I've happily settled myself into a one man fleet. I may not get to Tier V Starbase like that. But I know that anything I do won't be for nothing.

I just joined RedditAlert... best bunch of guys ever... not gonna kick you for no reason and just generally a great all around fleet. There are 2 other official or affilliated fleets as well if I recall correctly... being pretty new to the game it's been nice to have a supportive group to help guide me. Join the redditchat channel if you just wanna hang, it's always full of people...

Or you simply set your ingame privacy options to "Do not accept fleet invites" and you never gotta bother with invite spam.

apologies for your in-fleet experiences, but it could be u r joining the wrong fleets. by farmost fleets r up and above board with their members. be careful and check out fleets prior to committing yourself. might save u a lot of trouble.

There are fleets which require a quota of contribution to remain an active member. As such be sure you are in communication with the leadership and gain agreement about expectations.

Try Tranq, I here there a great fleet.

The Wild Bunch has a tier'ed rank system that shows you by the numbers what you need to contribute to activate fleet resources. We also provide access to fleet vendors before the 50,000 minum conribution to those who ask directly as we believe if you contribute at all you deserve to use the benefit of the fleet resources.

well i admit i contribute a bunch to the fleets i have been in...and they so far have all been alot of fun.

I am inthe legion of catgirls one....though most of them are not on start trek much lately.

On the KDF side i was invited tot he Fersan Fleet....forget the name right off.

And on federations ide I got invited to the Bajoran Malitia....and they are on alot.

Maybe they will kick me...maybe not...i dont mind...becasue if i contribute its becasue i want to for fun..and none of them have bugged me about anything at all.

Though i do feel like an underachiever in the bajoran malitia....i need to get my rank up othe marks list.

No offence meant Sightless17, but most fleets want friendly and commited members who know what they are doing or are at least willing to learn, maybe you didn't tick all the right boxes. You can contribute all you like to fleets but if you don't play nice you will probably get kicked, I am not saying that this is why you got kicked just saying that maybe it could be whyyou got kicked.

Not rude or anything but I play like a quantum torpedo. High burst play followed by breaks. Not all of us can afford to play like photon torpedos always firing. Maybe why I get kicked, but it's hardly a fair reason.

This simply isn’t true. There are too many fleets for any one player to reliably arrive at this conclusion. Certainly many are bad, certainly many are good.

The statement that 'Most fleets will take your contributions and kick you out' is entirely unsupportable. Its a supposition based entirely upon Sightless17's own bad experiences or pessimism.

If Sightless17 has had a succession of bad experiences that’s a terrible shame. But with so many fleets in the game it is highly probable that a number of people will have a succession of bad experiences even if the the highest over all number of experiences by others is positive.

Without engaging in a lengthy survey of the games population there really is noway to say weather Sightless17's experience is an anomaly or genuinely sportive of his superstition.

Personally I do not believe that most fleets will rip you off. But that opinion is based on my own experience which has been that most fleets have gone out of their way to be of service and help their members.

My experience could also be an anomaly.

My experience with fleet holding progression tells me that any one working on a holding alone due to a lack of trust shouldn’t bother investing much.

They should just work on obtaining enough provisions for the fleet items they want. Then they should get a fleet who has unlocked the items they desire to invite them to visit their holding. Once there they can purchase items at that fleets store using their personal fleets provisions.

The only things that can not be obtained in this way are fleet ships. While a solo player might make it to tear 1 or 2 with their shipyard going beyond that is going to really hurt. They would be far far better off joining another fleet and hoping to be treated fairly or buying fleet shipyard access from another fleet then trying to grind up their own personal shipyard. Even if they get scammed many times the cost to them in time and Energy credits would be far less.

^ I have had the same expriences (Tranq & Enduring Leagacy of Light) and fully agree with that statement^

The 44th Fleet is very good, if you're an easy-going type. Bigots and jerks and angry hardcores don't last there. Also, the 44th has its Tier V Starbase already built, so no need to fear that they'll exploit you.

All interested players need to file an application with the fleet's website at startrek[dot]44thfleet[dot]com. Promotion comes through time spent in the Fleet, and showing up in-game at least once a month will typically keep your membership live.
