Something that's been bugging me [Romulan Story Spoilers]
So, Rinna Khev. Kind of an unusual feature in that she's central to a story arc concerning one of your bridge officers, to the point that several missions are based around trying to find her, or just information on her whereabouts. And I actually liked that; the Romulan exclusive missions are very well done, much more personal. Clearly more effort was put into them than the Klingon or even Fed early missions. A side-arc like that, focusing on a much more fleshed-out Bridge Officer made me think of a Bioware game.

Then, eventually, you actually do find her! And then...nothing. Oh, Tovan and Rinna are happy to see each other, we rescue her, she beams out. But then...nothing. Subsequent chapters play out only slightly differently from the Fed or Klink versions, and while I'm only shortly into the DS9 missions, so far, Rinna's been keeping out of it.

Was that really just it? I was expecting a lot more. I blew up fleets looking for her, does that really culminate in this simple "Hi, thanks for saving me bro, see you later"? I mean, that's resolution, sure, but it was very weak. Is there something else? Something I haven't picked up yet?

Eh...rant over.

Feeling underwhelmed? Get used to it.

I've got 280 hours in the game, all three characters at level 50, you'd think I'd be used to it by now. Especially after playing Klingon side.

Nope. Once you finish the Romulan-story specific missions, you'll never hear from her again. I did find it odd that you don't get her as a bridge officer, but you do get D'Ken. You could create her as a bridge officer if you really want to though.

Yeah, I was expecting to get her as, if not a Bridge Officer, tehn at least as a Duty Officer. You get Law as a duty officer, and I didn't have to blow up any fleets just to find him.

I might costomize a Boff to be her, though, althought that might be a bit cruel, parading her around to people who didn't realize she's not available as a Boff in the traditional sense.

Smoke and mirrors, the only reason they give you such a personal storyline for romulan characters is to hide the fact that they are less then half a faction.

Well, there are more Rom-exclusive missions than there are Fed or Klink...but yeah, half a faction sounds about right.

In one of the DS9 missions my Romulan got called a "Klingon" by a very confused Jem'Hadar

During one of the Wasteland missions, the one where you rally the pirate ships against Hassan, my female Orion boff began talking...in Tovan's voice. That was a touch startling, to say the least.

Well...no such thing as a game without bugs, I suppose.

The really crazy thing is I was playing on my KDF officer.

There was a bit of a push on tribble to have her become a Duty Officer like Law, but sadly nothing really came of it.
