Suggestions for Game Improvement
I just want to start a thread where people can post suggestions for improving the game, like a public brainstorm.

As I've recently started playing STO, I've recognized a few things that could be done to help improve gameplay or get players (like me) more deeply engrossed in the game overall. However, as I have just started playing the game, there are probably quite a few features of the game that I have yet to discover, so please take every one of my suggestions objectively and possibly with a dose of salt.

Feel free to post your own suggestions (which is what this discussion is for) or to make polite addendums to others' suggestions.

My first suggestion is to modify dialogue. The script is good, but the responses that your character can make are generally flat and very limited. More options for what you can say/do and to have consequences for what you say could make it very interesting. They don't have to be major consequences, but something as simple as a terse response from the Admiral to a joke you made could make dialogue much more engaging if utilized correctly and often enough. It would also add more character to the player's avatar, making role-playing much more intriguing.

Something similar to the Mass Effect or Star Wars: The Old Republic dialogue wheel would allow for the above. Not the wheel itself necessarily, but more the relationship between what option you choose and what the character actually says. That way you could say more than a few words without having the dialogue option take up half the dialogue box.

They really need to work on their pricing. It's not as bad as some but they really need to start adding a bit more value.

As far as dialog goes, let's be honest they are having a hard enough time just finishing what they have. TOR had a budget of like 300 million, largely because of that dialog wheel. It would be cool, but I highly doubt it would justify the cost.

Right now they need to work on fixes and adding content to justify the cost to the player. I don't think its over priced, but its getting close.

getin 3nd person shooting part better its not very smoth and figthing can be slow,

If they could make the 3nd person part of it smother like "APB type" like how easy it is to controll your toon...if that sie of the game gets sorted it will ring more players..

I think that they should create "contested areas" where the factions would go PVP to take those territories, something like Planetside I guess.

Maybe do something with autokicking players from PVP queue :-(

they havent acted on player ideas on official forums for the past 3 years or more . why do you think they will pay attention to this .

cynical i know but true

Not to rain on the parade, but you'll have better luck on the official forums. I... don't think they even read these ones.

As for not acting on player ideas, nonsense. During the Legacy of Romulus beta, there was a lot of back and forth and a lot of changes were made based on what players were talking about. There have also been things like the atmospheric event and a lot of paid ship consoles are based on player ideas. The thing to keep in mind, however, is that they do have a plan for the game/development that is already roughly slated out over a year in advance.
