Nightsky A fleet for the rest of us.
Basically I run a Federation fleet called Nightsky that is mainly for people who have lives, uknow people who work or go to school who carn't spend their lives online but still want to have accsess to fleet ships, gear and missions. We also have had a few new comers and players who have come back to the game and need some help. We are friendly and open. We have about at least 4 people that can craft mk XI gear and we put surplus gear in the fleet bank for anyone who "NEEDS" it. You are not required to donate to the fleet but if u want fleet gear u will need to. Honestly we are still a small fleet with a near tier 1 starbase but thats from 7 people donating. sadly we have no KDF counterpart ( sorry :-( ) if anyone is interested PM me on steam or me on STO at jax@virus13jax

There are many already established fleets out there, starting your own sounds like a very bad idea if you doing it for your fleet mates to "have access to new fleet ships".

I tell you why....leave the trillions of energy credits that you will need just to get all the consumables and doffs for at least tiers 1 to 3. the amount of dilithium required for upgrades from tier to tier stands in the millions. I kid you not.

Unlees you are going to pour thouzands of real life dollars in to this game to get dilinthium and keys to aquire EC your fleet will get nowhere...thats a fact.

In my fleets there are dozends of active members many of whom are STO veterans with lifetime subscriptions and we are only now finishing tier 4 and starting tier 5. the amount of resources required for upgrades is astronomical.

Aka'tesh i understand what u mean and i am aware of the costs involved. I made this fleet for a meeting ground for friends and like minded players. Upgradeing the starbase is secondry. The type of people Nightsky is for who play not very often or want help from friendly people. I am also aware that there are fleets that do already. However i will contine to run Nightsky even if it takes years.

I didnt mean to offend, My point was; when i started playing the game myself i wanted to join a decent enough fleet with friendly people and i knew no one in STO. My first though was, I make my own fleet and invite people i like...so i searched a few treads to find out how to make that happen. What i found was that i will not be able to do this on my own, not even if i invite others who started playing this game.

What i would have accomplished if i have made my own fleet is perhaps after a while creating a group of a few like minded individuals who like to play togezer, you may call it clan or a guild, but not a fleet, not as others and now i(now) understand the meaning of a word - fleet.

Not that there is annything wrong with that, but that's what friends list is for - to play with your friends.

So i just poted in ESD that i was looking for a mature enough fleet to join and soon after i was invited to a fleet where i play 'till this day.

I dont want to discourage you from making your mark, i'm just sharing what i have learned myself - you dont need your own flag to declare freedom & independance, somebody most likely done it before you, you just need to find and join them.

You should do it, and I wish I could play with your guys even though I'm in a fleet that's never online. From the time I did play, I found lots of the fleets already established are hard to play with. I don't like all the members, I don't like the hardcore attitude, and I play alot of other games so I'm not going to commit every little thing in this game to memory. There's always some jerk in the elite missions calling other people stupid, which sucks. It's hard to find good people who are not rude jerks. I hope you succeed.

Thank you for your support. While i know there are some fleets with a similar attitude to my own they are a litle more strict. Nightsky will continue to run even if it takes us years to get a high starbase its all about the people the fleet gear and ships are secondary.

I've changed my mind from my original post, there are too many fleets out there with meglomaniacs at the helm, if you are starting a new one and have respect for your members, good luck to you.
