i am beyond baffled!
Excuse my grammar/spelling steam has no spellcheck and i suk at spelling so if that urks you go away now please.

Right, i just saw the latest update and nearly cried at how dumb the suits at cryptic are and how WASTED! this game is! i can name one game that is remotely like STO and thats SWTOR and this game cr4ps bricks on swtor across the board especially where it counts in terms of endgame customability you're on the same level as everyone else as everything caps at 12 purple in swtor endgame means 3-6 months grinding just to have the kits everyone else has and its the same frigging thing! and then its only ground in STO you have ground AND space! no grinding for even footings just years of fun experimenting with different builds and tactics weapon types/combos, energy types/combos, crew skills, crafted tech it goes on and on and its all gameplay-gold! but nothing that gives you advantage past you're skill which is so rare in any MMO let alone free2play but why you ask does SWTOR have 2 million players vs STO's 2 thousand? 3 letters PVP!!!! this is the most honest and brilliantly constructed MMO that doesn't have fairys in it and yet some how its managed to host the WORST most diabolical PvP arenas ever made for any kind of game ever,,of ALL time! and what does cryptic do to keep the game going and alive, a bunch of vanity items for something no real gamer is ever going to care about in the slightest OMG i gotta grind for the tribles WTF? how many people enjoy co-op, how many people enjoy good arenas. answer is how many people play THIS GAME and how many people are on swtor! or eve, or guild wars, or WOW! i cant stand middle earth MMOs i love futuristic ones. when are you going to wake up and smell the cash you're loosing cryptic il buy every single vanity thing you have il take the life time sub at its usual price just for the pretty uniforms just give me a game that plays like it looks instead of fishbowl arenas that i gotta wait 2 hors quing for just t get put against a premade team/guild or PvP uber-tryhards while mine are just leaching for the dailys or just leavers. Please, is there another game that is exactly like this one that actualy puts effort into its arenas?

rant over, RIP my lvl 50 captain :[

So very seconded. YOU try constructing an MMORPG with such an excellent PvP arena, HexDecimal, particularly when the game is FREE TO PLAY, and so the company making it cannot afford to spend a millionare's fortune on Staff. Plus, ff the game had only 2000 players, my Fleet would have just over a fifth of the entire game's population in it, which isn't true.

IM NOT TROLLING this game deserves better than 2 hour ques for fish bowl meat grinders they have a couple of good ones but they have no good reward system vs the stf and fleet actions it might be an enraged rant and hard to swallow but im not wrong. and if you are happy and enjoy what it DOES have how can i possibly troll you?

And yes vice admiral my bad i always call feds captains for some crazy reason maybe because and i may be wrong here but isnt any rank refered as captain when in command of a ship higher or lower?

I have more than 500 hours in this game. Starting with that, I will say that pvp in this game is not perfect. and if you'd have googled a few articles before playing it you would get a clue what this game is about. This game has missions that are actually interesting and more to it there are player created missions that diversify the game even further.

every online game is about grinding toward something and getting the best gear is not always easy and thats the point. But in STO there is no pressure of getting the best gear. Mostly its your skills that matter.

It is also has been pointed out that this game is free to play now, so buddy, if you dont like this game, please, there are like hundreds of other online games out there.

You said you like wow, Eve and Guild Wars?
Well i have played WoW for several years - the game is specially designed to be addictive. It was made like that so you wouldn't leave. It was good once but now it just chinese infested ♥♥♥♥-pool. The game is not free to play and if you want to achieve anything useful (like endgame gear) you need to play 5-10 hour a day. i kid you not. Wasted more than 1000$ there.

EvE? - ♥♥♥♥ no. I paid to play this game. I paid for a whole year and then some (like 300$). The game is ♥♥♥♥. People there are extremely hostile, and kill you on every chance they get. o exploration. The gameplay and missions are so dumb it feels like this game was made for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ people (circle around an enemy until you or he dies). Every mission is the same: go to place X kill Y enemy waves. Reward 0.1% increase in reputation with Z faction that gives you nothing.

Guild Wars? - 3424834 players were put on 1000 square meters map to kill giant, giant something or each other. ah and yes i paid for the collectors edition ... -80$ there.

i think you're missing my enraged point sir one thing i love about this game is theres no need to grind for anything other than side grades, proton or disrupter this or that but its always fair. yes i understand its an RPG game but the PvP is fair. this is a rare thing and something so many MMOs try and fail to offer look at swtor there is no choice just grind for higher gear at end game and every season a new and better set is released that you need and that sucks fact is this game has variation to keep end game interesting but like my point says thats seldom found in MMOs why is it so good? because it makes PvP fair at the sametime you always have the reward of earning different toys to play with, without upsetting the balance. Now this maes the competetive scene for STO potentially the best of any MMO thats free but its just waisted no one plays it because it sucks but it could so easily be made worth while for players and that would attract millions this is what every competetive MMO player wants. eve crossed with swtor but balanced and at the same time has endless possibilitys in terms of setting up you'r ship, crew, and self! then star base and crafting and all that good stuff and what we got for competetive? a fishbowl that rewards you wih well, nothing you cant get way quicker in STFs it boggles the brain the cap and hold space mission is OK but not great but the fish bowl is laughable and the ground has one good one OK one as well but the deathmatch is dumb plain and simple again with space cap and hold is fun if you can get a decent and fair teams but the fish bowl is just laughable. and im not wrong because no one cares for them go to the ground OPvP world bro there will be about 2 AFK players and no one else there and you'l probs get one round done and just leave because of how absolutely humdrum it is but what do cryptic work on for updates starbase vanity items? *smacks head on keyboard d9ef;ajok! Yes there are other games but not as good as this one and certainely not as good PvP as this one could have if it only just tried im not asking for anything big just do something with it and dont just reward for attending dailys could be say do this much damage/heal/protection to get a massive dilithium bonus because half the people that do que just AFK for the EC or do one little thing and nothing more. The OPVP space one is OK good well done but the others are failures and deserve better because this game desaerves a competetive scene more than any other MMO in my opinion by a huge strech. and hey, dont even take my suggestions seriousely there only thought on how to get more people playing if enough of you trekies played the PvP in this game id re install now and be happy enough with that.
Aka'tesh Dec 31, 2012 @ 10:16am
I'm sorry but i have stopped reading your response in the middle. The lack of grammar is astounding. I seriously couldn't see where the sentences end - I found no dots. And from what I was able to read I couldn't tell if you are for or against the game.

More to the point - As I have said before if you had googled at least a few articles about the game, you would know that there is only one person currently in charge of the pvp aspect of the game and that the company actually considered removing the pvp all together.

This game is in no way perfect, but it way better than many others i have tried and paid for.
Replika Dec 31, 2012 @ 10:32am
what did i start this entire thread by saying? il try better though for you. Im for the game, im against the sucky PvP. this game deserves good PvP or just something better. Il agree to removing the ques for it because well, if no one plays it then thats that. the Open space PvP system is OK but gets boring quick, the ground one deserves focus its completely dead and theres room for alot more. look up ilum which is an open pvp world in SWTOR, if STO's OPVP ground map was a bit more like that and just had some venders and all that at the bases with additional objectives i'd be on cloud 9. hell whats that demon class world? ditch the current PvP world and make the demon class planet PvP with a switch instance option just encase any guilds start stomping it and only try to gank players ofcourse i'd fight them all day lol.

2 things are painfully obvious from your posting.. 1. youre an idiot 2. you obviously havent played STO much at all.. there is a crapload more to the sto "endgame" as you call it.. just because u hit the cap dont mean ur anywhere near done einstein..as for the pvp.. try it once.. if you arent built for pvp ur gonna get eaten plain and simple.. and that goes for space or ground pvp. the sto's and fleet actions have gotten improvements over the past few months as well as additions to the content.

what i said-OP "you're on the same level as everyone else as everything caps at 12 purple"
and
"its all gameplay-gold! but nothing that gives you advantage past you're skill which is so rare in any MMO let alone free2play "

Im talking about the number of people who play PvP, or lack thereof. What are you people talking about? Looks like you're assuming im upset about balance or something? eh il leave you to it since im not a jackass whisperer. Enjoy your'e STFs im gunna go play some raids, and then real PvP in a game i wish was this one. /thread

the advantage in sto is a tricky creture.. you have to take alot into considerration. the type of ship your gonna use, your characters job class, and the equipment according to how you want to play. its alot easier to build a pve ship to pwn everything. but pvp is an entirely different entity. your skills, ship, and gear are a different game alltogether.for example. i tried gearing my odessey for pvp and i was able to tank very well but i couldnt do any damage..now im in a fleet aquarius destroyer. its thin skinned but im setting it up to get in, do damage, and get out as fast as my engines can carry me..its not a crappy game by any means, but it does require alot of work, ddication and grinding. they have recently revamped the reward system for stf to make it more evenly distributed,.. it just takes determination and to stick with it no matter how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off ya get..i apologize for calling you an idiot but you sounded soo much like someone who went there, created an account and played for a few hours. even you gotta agree that game takes considerrably more than just hopping in and playing it.. especially with the season 7 and soon to be released season 8 content. you should give it another go before ya give up on it. i left the game for a few months cause my ody ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me off,but im back and with all the new content i feel like a noob again.. a whole bunch of new crap to learn

you dont understand, i love my ship, i love my toon, i even have a crazy skittleboat for PvE, i worked my face off for endless nights towards my fleet base to equip the fleet gear not that i need more than a couple of bits a weapon, a console or 2. and the STFs are kind of cool but there not realy anything to scream about. what im saying is while all of that good stuff is perfect, the actuall PvP gameplay sucks donky balls go play the swtor trial, get to level lets say 20-25 and play the voidstar warzone or hutball, then come back and tell me what you think of the PvP in STO. the Open space warzone is a start but that was all it was a start a demo of the game's pertential and it was awesome when both sides were actually trying and piling in for the win, now you're talking a few AFKs and one or 2 ships just trying to gank eachother no one decrypts no one cares. ground one not far away is just plane DEAD. and were talking 10-30 minute ques to play the most hum drum 4vs4 arenawhich is the same fail as the open WZs but the klinks will usually bring a premade (by premade i mean premade team not ship or weapons) and it'l be 2 leachers a tryer a leaver vs the premade. so much pertential. what the hell happened?

again, what is the name of that demon class world? why is that not fully contested PvP territory? i would never leave this game hell i would even subscribe! kerrat should be the que-for warzone for space, 8vs8 2 rounds 1 to circumvent the other to attack and decrypt then switch OH,, MY GOD i would die on my PC desk from not leaving it.
PoppaWoodie Jan 11, 2013 @ 4:01am
sorry i misunderstood.. thought u were complaining.. i agree. they need to make lots of improvements to the pvp part of the game..personally id like to see a combination ground/space pvp.id prolly suck in space but id hold my own on te ground i think
[40-1]King_Kosher Jan 11, 2013 @ 6:49pm
can i have your stuff,OP?
