Can't even make a character.

So i just downloaded STO with relativly few problems, until i came to the retriving list of characters, after which i get the an unknown error has occured or some such. From what i have gleemed over the forums this may be due to the servers being packed with people or somthing, so later tonight i'll try again but if anyone knows if my problem is more devious than i thought let me know as well as any fixes that might help, i would be very greatful.

Huge update was released today, they are being slammed. It may be a while before things settle down.

As usual with big patch/expansion day, don't really plan to play that day. It's a known issue, they're lookig into it, when it'll be fixed is unknown but hopefully tomorrow. Good luck!

Yea, sooo irritated. I was logged in, made a character and got wife aggro about dinner.... now I can't even retrieve my characters to get back in.

Ok that puts me at rest knowing it might just be a a delay, i'll just hold off until it's ready instead of think why in the hell did i even waste an hour downloading this if i can't play it. Also thank you all for your input and in such a prompt fashion.

I thought my account was kaput! but alas, just server issues. I think I was being a little to hopeful in expecting to play on the launch of the new DLC tonight but at least its all patched and downloaded. Ill try tomorrow. Im sure I can survive one night without STO! can't I? lol
