It's an MMO meets Star Trek on a fairly decent F2P model. Does that sound appealing?

i would highly recommend it it has good graphics, doesnt need a good pc to play it
and i found it entertaining just a bit repetitive in the early parts but when u hit lvl 20 things get better

The space side is fun whle the ground side is weak. I don't usually enjoy MMOs but this one keeps bringing me back. Nothing else it's free.

It's fairly decent as far as MMORPG's go these days. Manages to stave off WoW-clonism.

I agree with this player. It does manage to not be a WoW clone, like SWTOR. Not that anyone realizes SWTOR ever was a clone of WoW because hardly any person recognizes the scheme they added in.

Another thing, if your net takes 3 hours to download Star Trek Online.. you need to get better internet because it took me like 10 - 15 minutes. No offense to you.

I would highly recomend it, it's fun and has some great missions. The space combat is insanly fun, I can't recount the amount of times I have watched an episode of the TOS and got on to play STO and had a blast. The only fault I can really find with the game is that the starter UI is quite hectic and will need changing via the options + The Inventory can also be very how do I put it, overbaring? It takes a while to sort it out after a mission or two.

If you would like a space RTS with RPG MMO, then yes. I like it and don't care for most MMOs.

I don't know I just downloaded it and started playing. Loading screens are ridiculously long. I'm hoping that it will eventually speed up as I eventually end up downloading all the data. Played for 23 minutes, been on loading screen probably atleast 15 of those minutes.

It uses a streaming system similiar to how the original Guild Wars did. The first time you go somewhere will probably take a little bit to make sure you have everything and download anything you don't, but any return visit should be much faster.

Thats a helpful insight. I would recommend that all new players click the options menu in the game launcher before jumping in game, and uncheck the "on-demand patching" option. This will allow you to download the full game (perhaps after restarting the launcher). It will significantly improve the load times between maps.
