I need your help guys.
A bit of back story. My old Pc was a dual core AMD @ 2.8ghz and a 4800 HD radeon gfx and 6 gig of RAM. My new rig is a AMD 6300 6 core @ 3.5ghz and a 7870 radeon and 8 gig of RAM.

When I got my new PC I installed ST:O played a mission and then logged off because I had so many more games to install. There were no issues with the game, non at all. I log in a couple of days later and the game is stuttering. What I mean is, when ships fly past me they jerk past me. It is not runnign smooth and I don't understand why because it worked prefectly before.

I tried putting all graphics settings to Off/low still this has no impact. My cpu says its at about 40 - 50% usage, which seems fine to me.

What could it be? I have tried re-installing it 5 times now. It's frustrating.

Log into the game and in the chat-box type:

/netgraph 1 and hit enter.

That'll bring up the netgraph in the lower right hand corner of your monitor. Look and see if you have a high ping or packet loss, as that can lead to the perception of stuttering ships. If that does confirm your issues, there are numerous amounts of threads about server issues on the STO techincal forums - http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/forumdisplay.php?f=70

You can disable the netgraph by typing in the chatbox /netgraph 0

Aside from that - not much I can suggest besides the routine driver check, see if your card is running hot, etc.

Thank you.
Posted a video clip of the problem with my netgraph displaying. I am from the UK with a 25mb internet connection. It's showing fluctuations but when I play another online game I have great ping 18 - 30 for bf3 etc. etc.

There was some very minor packet loss... and assuming the stuttering wasn't due to the screen capture... you do have a problem.

Ever use something like GPU-Z and CPU-Z? This game relies quite a bit on the CPU (a bit like how Borderlands 2 does), you can run those two (they have a logging feature) to see what the bottleneck could possibly be. Oh, those two utilities will let you know things like temperature/etc as well.

Aside from that... something in the system (unlikely since other games are fine, right?).

Correct, all other games run fine in very high graphics settings. I do have CPU-Z I'll give it a try

I have a 2 gb card :| bf4 runs fine graphically for me. I doubt that it is the issue. Besides, it was fine one day and not the next.

Sorry for hijacking the thread... ...@Asphe: I saw your screenshot. Sweet. How did you get 10 Boff-stations? :) -I want to have them too. :D

It was a bug that was (still is?) hitting players. There are no 10 Boff station ships in STO.

I've had a bug where my Armitage had 5 CMDR boffs stations. Those statoins reverted back to normal after I zoned and never got to test that out. Also had on a couple of ships where I couldn't slot boffs to their stations.

Yea. The non-slottable Boff syndrome is(was) well known by me to. Never saw the 'more than 5 boff'-bug before though. To bad you didn't get to try it out. PvP would be crazy.
