Error Detected by the game...?
"An error was detected by the game, would you like to verify all files?"
I've allowed it to do this 3 times, no change. It freezes and them times out on the load up.

Any suggestions?

Then after freezing at the Cryptic page, it closes and a window reads, "Fatal Error: Unable to initialize on-demand patching and connect t Patch Server: The connection was idle for too long."

you've got corrupted assets; copy the original folder with the data aside, download again the game and install it on top. Once it starts to download the game, quit and copy back the data folder (only the data folder!).

When it start again, it will patch the files and should work. Happened to me at least twice; and I realized that I had a bad hd....with the new drive it didn't happen anymore.

Hey there, Darshie. I'm currently having a similar problem with Star Trek Online as of Thursday, February 6. I've tried almost every fix out there short of getting a new computer, except for the one you recommended. Would you be willing to be slightly more specific with the instructions on how to overcome the corrupted assets? The info you have is a bit vague to me.

Scratch that, I finally solved it! McAfee must have flipped out and added the game client to the "Block" list. I went through the list, found it and restored it to normal.
