I am not going to lie
People seem to get upset with nerd rage with this game.

I love it... not sure why people cry so much. You fly around and shoot stuff, you run around on the ground and shoot stuff, They have easter egg hunts and 1000s of quests.

Plus you can morf your Toon into whatever you want.

Different people enjoy different things. Different people want different things. Different people experience the same things with different emotional emphasis.

I like to hope this is long past self evident to anyone who's spent any amount of their life around other human beings. It always weirds me out to see people who've managed to reach adulthood, or even adolescence, without ever having learned this simple, ubiquitously demonstrated fact. Did they grow up alone in a cave, or are they so egotistical that they could experience a lifetime of human interactions without ever noticing that other people are not, in fact, merely half-formed reflections?

Only The Shadow knows.

A game starts out with one set of meta-physics and expectations and with a change of management alter every factor of the game to something completely different.. Then follow up with making changes to their changes every other season further confusing expectations. Added a marketing campagin designed to make older ships/equipment feel inferior, and an in your face lock box lotto with gawd awful returns per investment. Sprinkle over that a reputation grind system replacing random drops, and ever expanding factions.. plus same for starbase and player fleet building.. The game went from casual lucky drops and the exchange to grind-o-rama for flavour of the season faction specific ships/equipment.

Oh and dumb down character design where there are no limitations and no consequences to decisions or actions.

Interesting and I cannot disagree with most of it. They have fostered a pay to win attitude in a game where everybody wins all the time anyways. Why is Cure stf the least popular, you might actually fail. The player base is spoiled and hasnt been challenged ever. Its all bout bragging rights, with suckers dropping the most cash the biggest yappers.

You need to write books or something, your nerd rage is beautiful to read

glad you approve. No one listens where it matters anyways. If I can set anyones tone for getting into STO, realizing I was right and getting out early. I will feel I have been effective.

My dislike of the changes and plans and generally disrespectful treatment of players wants and needs do not make me a troll. Every new release I go in to see the changes, try the changes. They are rewriting STO from the outside in and changing every element of the game to somethign more flashy but far worse in application than it was.

Nah less like trolling more like, He doesn't like the direction the game is going. But instead of doing what most people would do instead he would rather be like an Evangelist or a door-to-door bible salesman trying to push his beliefs on other people instead of saying to himself "Well this game has taken a turn that I personally dont like, time to move on and go back and check it out for myself when I feel the need to do so".

But that aside. I honestly agree with him in a lot of aspects. Actually, most of them. Absynth is not trolling at all, hes just expressing his opinion on the game... in every. single. topic...

Absynth missed this, maybe if I quote it he will read it.

I make my case, I can not make anyone do anything. If by force you mean exercise free expression, I can only say it's a semi free forum. I've made no personal attacks, except perhapse if you interprit a desire to hear about bad things happening to DSthal that way. He never posts here that I've ever known so.. whatever. Eventually Ill have found all i can to pick apart about the currant release, and we'll see how it goes next time.

Nerd rage is unavoidable. You get this type of critisism with any game made after a popular IP. Especially Star Trek, Star Wars, and now The Elder Scrolls Online. Not only do you get gamer critisism in general, it gets the extra MMO gamer critisism and ctitisism from people that love the IP.

STO is soft cannon, and a free to play model that relies heavily on people buying zen for ships, cosmetic extras and other account side upgrades.

I think it's fine for what it is. Naturally, people will "cry" about things they don't like. I can't really blame them though. They have as much opportunity to voice their opinion as you just did with saying "I love it.... not sure why people cry so much."

In the end, its only words. Let them be spoken. Its really no big deal.

Actually I never stated once you made any personal attacks. I am just saying you are like a preacher, annoying and unaffective. Every single topic you come in and spew the same thing over and over (Of course you don't just copy and paste but every single thing you post is almost the same).

When i think of Absynth I think of those fat inbred rednecks that sit infront of abortion clinics picketing with signs. That's all I am stating. You're annoying.
AbsynthMinded 2014년 4월 25일 오후 2시 43분
Yes because painting me as irrelevant or ignorant is sure to invalidate my claims. Im only annoyed with the game and its development. Anyone annoyed with and taking shots at me personally would be more Troll like by deffinition.
Nilnus 2014년 4월 25일 오후 4시 12분
I didn't paint you as irrelevant or ignorant at all. You clearly don't understand at all what im saying. I'm not saying you're irrelevant in anyway, and the only thing you are ignorant too is the fact you're the annoying troll who has depromote this game in EVERY. SINGLE. TOPIC.

I'm letting you know that you're worse than preacher, all you are missing is a sign around your neck saying "STO is not as good as it used to be so come to me ill tell you how bad I think the game is" and a bell to ring non-stop and you'd be a record breaker.

Claiming you aren't a troll is a lie. All you do is jump from post to post saying the same thing with different words.

We get it, you don't like the game. You've only told every single person who likes this game that you don't like it and trying your very best to depromote it based on your personal opinions and experiences.

Let me quote this one last time and maybe you will actually read it...

Absynth we know you don't like the game, but your opinion isn't going to change what people are going to think.

I'm also doing this so maybe you can use your energy on something positive, get out of that despressive attitude and be happy.

And whats funny is me and my fleet mates we love doing Cure Elite along with the other Elite STF`s. Me personally I see it as refreshing to see that my ship might actually come up against a ship that will do it in. For far too long my Galaxy X has been a Shield tank now a days I am now a shield and hull tank. And just today I got taken out by a large group of Undine ships twice. For me it does upset me alittle to know that my build which is still sound is now at the point that it is becoming dated due to all the changes that has been made. At the same time though I am enjoying the struggle though.

For me though I wish we could go back to the random loot drop and do away with reputation grind. But that will not happen. You had to grind to hopefully get that gear you wanted. Now you have to grind to gain reputation to grind some more to buy the gear you wanted.
