Problems starting STO

I get past the loading screen and past the romulen part and the screen goes black as if its loading, but i don't see any picture and after about an hour of just waiting for it to load i gave up.
Also i hear the theme music but when i click the upper right hand corner is closes the screen and says about a crash report.

Need help Game looks really good!!!!

You can try to verify the local files... to do this, start the launcher and go in the options menu. there you can activate 'force verify' and log in. Then you must be patient, because it will take a while... ;)

Goto the Star Trek Online website, get the game launcher directly from them and try logging in that way. Seems some people who have problems logging in thru Steam have better luck going that route.
Hope it works for you, the game is pretty nice.

Thank you guys for the comments, i've found the problem... it was the reselution. If you have a problem with it and its a blacks with sound quit out of it, and then go to control panel and change res to the lowest then start up STO and BAM! you just have to make the game screen small to change the res back to max and you can play the game like that!
