i downloaded the steam app for this game, registerd, and now its trying to embed the game,, at over 8gb...

i wont be doing the download for a long while yet...
is this game available to buy on disk?

i was hoping this game would be a really good mix of mass efect and starwars battlefront.. but im not gonna do the 8+gb download just to find out.. not yet anyway...

I remember there being collectors editions, but those would be hard to find now. That said, this game has one of the best F2P models out there.

Why would you not download it right away? Is this I have a cap on how much I can use sort of things or net is to slow things? If it is not one of those two I see no real reason to not just download it.... It is well owrth it ^_^ By the way the game is free.....You can download and play it for the low low price of 0$. That and due to the fact you can exchange in game currency for the Item Mall / Shop currency and not spend a single cent of your money, it really is the fairest you can get in a FTP game without them just handing you everything really.

The problem is that usage caps can be pretty extreme. I know a few people that have had issues with low caps. Some of them are seriously below 10 GB if the service is bad enough.

you can buy a disk, but you have to download, too. The disc only include 7 GB. you have to download the rest and the updates.

i can only dream of a time when software sold online comes with a data free download.

The game has had so many updates since the regular release, there's nothing you can do about needing to patch it. It's the equivalent of buying the original WoW disk used and trying to get up to date many years later. It will still take forever.

If you like Star Trek a lot, then you will still want to wait for this to download over a couple of nights.

I think you will have a great time playing this game.
Oh something to keep in mind.
You can start as Federation (best for beginners imo)
Klingon (horrible for beginners because it still is not as polished as federation imo)
Or Romulan...in which case you play for a few levels (10 I think?) at which point you can do a group of missions that ends with you being able to choose whether to be allied with Federation or Klingon. I would still suggest federation even if you go romulan.
Once you complete the tutorial (which I also suggest for free xp and gear) send me mail.

Have to say, Romulan best start to be honest story wise and stuff wont ruin it for you but I got into it alot which did not happen for me in Fed / Klingon starting missions, Fed best overall and seemingly the most played. Klingon as said above is just....Bleh.... The only reason why I decided to even make a character from Klingon was giant lizards or melee doom.
