rank 50....now what
Background:
couldnt believe I didnt stumble upon this gem earlier in my life. Once I installed and started it up it was an enjoyable ride all along doing content at my own pace, hell the missions so far were immersive and do the TV show justice. All in all I love the game. I picked whatever ship I was able to get tried out all classes and geared em with the stuff that I find along the way. Needless to say my armament is colorfull at best but so far it did the trick.

Problem:
now that I m max level I m at a loss what to do. It seems there aint too many storylines to follow anymore and the ones I find keep kicking my ship around like a wormhole anomaly. Instead of going to farm any of the game commodities I first should gear and streamline my ship a little I think. And here comes my cluelessless. I have absolutely no idea what weapons actually do or what is considered "good". I know I like plasma weapons but I dont have any. Going to the exchange isnt any good. I managed to save up 1.2 million but the "good" stuff tends to cost 2-4 million a piece so thats out. Just doing random missions in hope of having a good drop is boring and very frustrating and doing harder content in PvE queues makes me feel like a leech.

How do I find out what an "effective" build would be and how do I adapt my ship gear to it? If I am after specific weapons....how do I check whats available and is there a way to "test" out stuff like in a holo-simulation of sorts?

Any link to a good homepage providing information on the topic would be most welcome. I found a few guides online but they stop short of the interesting stuff.

well, i can say that i hit 50 with my fed, i fly an escort and use disruptors ( tears shields to shreds lol ) dual heavy cannons and turrets with plasma and photon torpedoes, plasma for the burn after i rip the shields down or just use the photons for straight up kinetic damage, which ever you like, now my romulan, i use plasma, it seems everyone that plays a rom. character say to use romulan plasma weapons, and since warbirds are kinda like the romulan equivilent to a fed escort, i stuck with plasma dual heavy cannons on my fore weapon slots and a plasma beam on my aft slot...

now for my bridge officer setup i use:

commander tac.:
tac. team 1
torpedo spread 3
cannon: scattter volley 2
attack pattern omega 3

Lt. com.:
tac team 1
cannon: rapid fire 1
attack pattern mega 1

Lt. eng.:
eng. team 1
emergency power to weapons 2

ensign eng.:
eng. team 1

Lt. science:
hazard emitters 1
transfer power to shield strength 2

thats how i have everything setup for my bridge officers, does a pretty bang up job on most if not all missions, just need to get some top level gear to top everything off.

if youre lookinfg for some vice admiral gear, maybe some purple stuff, hit me up, dont know if i have exactly what you need but im sure we can get it, my id is meyer@chrismeyer, just put in meyer and poof! ill pop up lol

Id like to bring you into my fleet, I can help with the space side of things, including gearing you up and outiftting you with some mirror universe ships. And both me and many of the members of my fleet can help guide you through the many facets of the end game content.

I sent you a friend on steam and you can find me on STO @jarodroto123

(and as for the gear it will be all minimum MK XI Very Rares except tac consoles cause even I dont have the insane amount of EC for that level of tac consoles)

So HMU if you want and lets get you into the endgame of STO!!!

Just in case you are wondering: I will reject any form of compensation for this, helping new players is it's own reward.

Thank you mate, I accepted but I rather not get carried you know. It makes me feel even more miserable when others do my work. But if you could show me stuff and help me out to "get going" that would be awesome.
