Star Trek - Axanar (New Movie)
Hey everyone, some of you know about the new Star Trek Axanar. It is a movie that is being produced through kickstarter, with some great actors in it. You can watch a 20 minute 'prelude' to the movie. Check it out Trekkies!

One of my fleet mates posted this on our forums. Loved the historical documentary flavour of the prelude. Was really impressed with the quality of the performances and the CGI looked impressive rather than hokey.

It's great to see someone mining TOS for ideas. I'm intrigued by getting a look at the Garth that Kirk idolized; That and watching D7s stomping the Federation :). yay

I was amazed by the quality. It felt real. Yeah its worth whats coming. These guys should make a series.

I agree! This could have been like "the office" (not that I'd prefer that) and I would have been content. Documentaries about star trek... even if just during Garth's era.
Either way I felt it was great. Tony Todd is a beast among men, and co-stared with Babylon 5 star Patricia Tallman (she also guest stared in several star trek shows/episodes) in Night of the Living Dead.

This is heaps better then that JJ Trek reboot of an alternate timeline.
Hell, they should do the Earth-Romulan war, before the Federation was founded. Keep the Enterprise events going.

no they should do a year 3000 something sequel to all the shows and have them traversing the distance between galaxies to explore worlds we cannot yet fathom. And the cast should be mostly intermix species and only have a handful of "purebred" humans with their disgusting featureless faces.

And have everyone hate it because a group of fans now try to dicatate the future of Star Trek? Not only would that warrant CBS to get up their butts, but it would also draw hatred from real fans of star trek.

Just like how Enteprise tried to say it 'started it all' (like teleporters, red alert, the federation etc) it would be extremely annoying to see this 'we are the best' show.

Prelude to Axanar was dope.

Really regret missing that kickstarter, even if my donation just bought someone a coffee while on set, cause that looked like some solid production values. Makes the Star Trek reboot seem silly.
