Slow Loading Times?
If you're having slow loading times, try doing some of these things:
Changing your Patching/Game proxy to a more appropriate setting.
Turn OFF 'On Demand Patching" This feature lets you patch as you go, but will have you loading for a long amount of time. Turning this off will patch the game up to date fully instead. This might be up to 4-6 additional GB.
Hope this helps

Agreed, if you have an "iffy" internet connection it is better to bite the bullet once and download the entire thing, instead of waiting for stuff to download at (nearly) every scene change.

My internet is 'fair' when it comes to speed. (700 kb/s) and occasionally I'll wait about a minute, while other levels (that I've played) are only seconds of loading (pretty good computer)

Totally welcome. My younger friend had this issue and I didn't want anyone else to as well. Also patching /every/ time you load up a map is super lame.

It's been a long load
Getting from there to here
It's been a long time
But my time is finally near
And I can feel the change in the game right now
Nothing's in my way
And it's not gonna make me load no more
No, it's not gonna make me load

Keeping in mind, these very same advises are said every day in one or two threads... the only thing you need to do guys is to search better around the forums.. lol. This is old, really old.. but i guess people is too lazy and they just wait patiently to someone to post this.. (again).

700kb/s nowadyas is a really really slow connection. Not saying is terrible, but for nowadays standards is really poor. Some online games will have a lot of problems keeping you online. Not the case of STO, since it should work just fine, but other more decent games will.

The waiting times in some screens is not your fault, its the game's fault. Has been that way since i can remember. And there is nothing you can do to fix that. And it has nothing to do with your connection speed or demand patching.

No, it's not gonna make me load
'Cause I've got "S-N-R!"
Not knowing where the game will take me
I've got lag, I can't believe
I can't do anything
I've got bugs, out the wazoo
I swear this game is gonna break me
I can't pass the title screen.
I've got "S"
I've got "S"
"S-N-R"

(Sorry, couldn't resist)
