how do you handle the inventory?
I find the inventory really annoying. Even skyrim does inventory with words. I have to put my mouse right over an item and highlight it. then if i drop stuff i have to drop in specific stacks to get stuff since there is no way to filter. the inventroy issues make me not even want to log into the game. I play alot of roguelikes.

I agree that inventory handling could be better. But I did come up with a general method of handling it:

Note that I don't usually use this method EXACTLY, but I play it by ear. And since writing that, I've adjusted some (for example, I now turn off autoloot when I'm in my pocket dimension).

Keep in mind that there are a couple of shortcuts that eliminate a motion or two:

Shift-left-click -- on something in your inventory, it will drop it right where you are standing; on something on the ground will pick it up and place it into your inventory in the first empty spot. If it's a trap, it will first attempt to remove the trap (if it's not automatic).

Alt-left-click -- whether in your inventory or on the ground, will try to place the item directly into your lutefisk cube (it also works on un-defused traps on the ground in the same way as shift-left-click). One report suggests that the lutefisk cube must be 'open' but I have not tried it with a closed cube to confirm that.

There is a sort button, but as you probably have noticed, it's not perfect.

One issue that I've noticed is an inconsistency between how items on your item bar and ones in your backpack are handled. For example, I can't drop something on the ground directly from the item bar by shift-clicking on it. I wish I could. Instead, it transfers it to the inventory, and a second shift-click is necessary from there.

Anyway, they do take suggestions on the gaslamp games forums, and occasionally suggestions have been known to eventually make it into the game. Here's a link:

I suggested that a long time ago, along with a few other things. The crafting window has improved drastically since the beginning (it used to be much worse. Really it was). But they took the tactic of making small changes with each update, instead of implementing all the stuff that people asked for at once.

During my playthrough, I mostly just auto sorted, and had auto loot on certain key items. I'd also use the personal dimension for a drop zone, incase i had items I wanted to craft, or sell later when I had a full inventory. Never found it to be a big deal.
