Spell to destroy hidden walls
Hello people, I was wondering if there's a particular spell or spells I should pick up if I wish to destroy hidden walls. I'm going to be making a mage, which is why I request magic that destroys walls rather than weapon skills, for instance.

Thanks in advance.

Most AoE spells or effects that can do damage will also destroy a breakable wall. Also, I assume you meant breakable walls as opposed to hidden walls.

One of the cheapest and easiest spell to get that will do that is Psychokinetic Shove, the tier 2 skill from Psionics. Plus it's pretty useful for knocking things off of islands, and as a cheap though not entirely reliable attack.

I used Psychokinetic Shove for moving a vending machine blocking my way to a room. I also use it for blasting open those barred cell doors to get the stuff inside. I went into one of those special zones today and found a narrow mine shaft with an ore cart blocking the way. I used this spell to push it down the tracks and made it into the next room. yeah, it's handy.

Thanks for the replies, I'll check out Psionics skill. To Dragon: Speaking of those vending machines sometimes blocking doorways, in addition to some cell doors, I noticed that some can be pushed with 'Remember Your Charlemagne', but it doesn't work on all doors and vending machines; is this inconsistency present on other skills which also push, or do you know if it's exclusive to that? (The push effect seems like a side-effect, so I assume it might just be that skill)

If you find one of those secret listening posts (will be blocked by a vending machine), there should be a lever inside that secret room which will remove the vending machine -- make sure that you loot the machine as much as you'd like to before flipping that lever, as it will make the vending machine disappear. Note that besides moving the machine, and teleporting into the room, you can also use the tier 2 skill from "Paranormal Investigator" ("Close Encounter") to flip the switch inside the room, in order to gain entrance. The skill actually has other fun uses that you can probably figure out on your own.

I think the inconsistencies are present with all those skills. Not certain. For example I noticed Psychokinetic Shove won't open all cell doors, but it has opened all that have something inside like loot or enemies, so far. There is another skill, that pushes stuff off islands but I can't remember it. It's some sort of fire blast. I haven't had much experience blowing holes in walls with anything but the missle of mass destruction. And with that, there is still a glitch where you can't walk through the hole you made but the enemies can.

As far as pushing cell doors is concerned, yes, some of them are immobile. Furthermore, if your spell pushes it to where a monster or other large object is (not also being pushed) then it can be blocked. That's more noticable with the Unarmed's "Throwing Buffalo Technique", since it only targets a single square, but it should be true for anything with a knockback effect.

Thanks for all the replies, you've both been very helpful.

I've tried using Psychokinetic Shove to move that minecart blocking the tracks (where there's a blackened out area) but it doesn't budge... What's up with that?

I've managed to make some of the bars shift two of the cells are still intact (which have a barrel and a monster behind them). The skill works on some things but not others... I'm confused >_<

One thing I've learned (and this may be dependent on what you are using to try to move bars) is that sometimes you have to target one space beyond the bars. I know that this is the case with the single-target push-type abilities, such as from Clockwork Knight and Rogue Scientist. Targetting the bars themselves doesn't work. That drove me kind of nuts until I actually figured out to target one space beyond.

Furthermore, I know that if you try to shove something into water, that won't work either, alhtough if the water isn't terribly wide, you can shove things all the way across. Since the distance shoved seems to sometimes be random, it's possible that you may need to try more than once for longer distances.
