DoD won't save the game ver. 1.0.4

I have a problem with saving in this game. Firstly it work perfectly but now it won't save anymore.I tried to take the steam cloud off and nuke the steamcloud files but this is not working. No save file is generated in my folders anymore (and because of this reason i can't play the game)

I have all the expansions, but no mods installed.
Operating system Win7 (64 bit)
I have also unistalled steam and installed it again, not working.

It sounds like it might be some kind of access problem. Was it installed under an admin account? Are you running it under an admin account? It's possible that you don't have write access to the save directory because of some freaky thing like that. That's my only guess right now.

Jeah i am running this thing with admin account...but i have checked the file and folder permissions so that my account should have sufficent rights available...and also i have tried to start the game exe with admin privilages...nothing...

Check the folder where a saved games are located (Documents\Gaslamp Games), not the binaries (Steam).

I'm on the same OS and am also having problems with the save files. (Documents\Gaslamp Games) does not seem to be the actual save location but a backup. Every time I delete all the save games in that folder and start up DoD it puts the save games right back in the Gaslamp Games folder by drawing them from some other location.

This is done even if my Desktop is completely severed from the internet, meaning that DoD is storing the actual save files it uses in a second hard drive location other than in Documents\Gaslamp. Would not be the first time I've seen a game use two seperate save game locations.

So wherever the real save game location is now you may not have full write permisions on that folder, so the saves are being deleted. In my case I cannot transfer saves from my laptop to my desktop since the wonders of cloud computing fail to detect my newer save games 80% of the time.
