Crashes half way through

I recently started playing again having forgotten why I stopped in the first place. Now I remember. There is an issue where it crashes randomly somewhere towards the end of the 4th or beginning of the 5th level. It seems to be a resources issue (in some way, similar to how PS3 version of skyrim had problems) because I never suffer from this problem at any part earlier in the game, yet every time I get a character this far it just stops working.

Is this an issue anyone else has come across? I stopped for a while because I thought it might be fixed at some point, but maybe it is a rare issue due to my ancient computer.

oddly enough Im experiencing the same thing. I noticed the game slowing down when I got to the 4th floor. Now I cant even get my save game to load... :(
