What is the deepest floor you've gotten to?

I'm on level 10 on my current run, but am hoping to make this one a victory. I've had a few close calls though, so I'm not sure if I'll make it. It's an Egyptian Magic build, so I'm golden so long as nothing too nasty spawns right on top of me or is immediately behind the door I'm opening or I get surrounded as part of a quest. I'd consider rushing to 15 now, except some of my gear is sub-par (nttg is to blame -- it plays faster but you get a lot less loot).

That said, I have won the game a few times (level 15, or 10 before the DLC that increased it). But I always like to think that Diggle Hell is about as deep as you can get. And I've been there (cleared it, including Vlad Digula).

I've beaten it on the base and with the added DLC levels on Easy and Medium at this point, though neither with Permadeth. I've also managed to crawl through Diggle Hell and kill Vlad Digula on Medium. I'm not sure what my next run will be...I want to keep upping the ante on the difficulty, so I'm not sure if I will do Hard or Easy with Permadeath.

I got to around level 5 but I always use Perma-death. I have no idea what I'm doing but that makes it all the more enjoyable.

The amazing flavor text is great, I sould really play this game more often.

All the way to floor 15. There, Dreadmor killed me in two spells. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Just one tip -- I've said this before but it bears repeating. If you don't play on permadeath, and don't clear floors (at least down to 12 or so) then you won't know if you are ready to fight Lord Dredmor.

Any build can kill him if you have the right gear, although have a good build will definitely help. You need good armor, good resists, and always have an escape plan to heal between encounters with him (because very frequently you will have to get away from him because his damage can be nasty. He has multiple spells that he can cast that do varied types of damage, so it helps if you have varied resists. Magic reflect is nice also, but magic resist and the specifid damage type resists are also important. The intervening levels are good practice because those levels individually test your cold, fire, disease, electrical and other resistances..

As far as gear and goodies that you'll want to have, invis potions (and/or the equivalent skill and/or fungus), and/or teleport potions (or the equivalent skill), lots of bolts or thrown weapons, preferably ones with good piercing damage or holy damage (eg. holy hand grenades). If you are using bolts, of course you want the best crossbow you can find (again, piercing+holy damage are big plusses). Of course, healing is nice, whether that's from food or potions or wands or whatever. Food is generally not sufficient, but it's good to have it just the same. If you are a caster, you still may want to use bolts if your spells are not doing sufficient damage (high resists except to, as I said, piercing and holy damage).

If he's two-shotting you when you are fully buffed and at full health, then you aren't ready for him, period. He can get lucky just as you can. But not that lucky. Don't get me wrong, he can hit hard. That's why you always need an escape plan.

/edit One more thing, I've beaten him on NTTG, BUT it was really tough. If you play on NTTG, you may have inferior gear and insufficint ranged attacks by the time you meet him. I said it on the official forums -- there ought to be an achievement for beating him on NTTG because it's a lot harder than normal.

Well, I one used a cheat skill and killed dreadmore on floor one. But that was cheating. Farthest I've GOTEN in permadeath is flor... Three, I think? I'm terrible at the game. I'm at floor eight on my current not permadeath run. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY SKILLS ARE MODS.

I managed to make it to 9 once and my save got corrupted. All very sad.

I beat it on Going Rogue, Permadeath.

On my first serious try I got to level 7. Prior to that I was just doing goofing around trying to get death achievements. Got killed by a Monster Zoo on level 7 cause I didnt' know how hard it was to play a melee build.

It really isnt too hard, you just need the right skills. My Sword-Dual Weilding-Master or Arms-Perception-Smithing-Archeologist-Golemancy character is wrecking the dungeon, with his two Katanas that he made.

Although, im still trying to win with permadeath on easy. Maybe you're on hard, I dunno.

Currently on floor 6 I believe with a semi-random build. I screwed up some skill point placement and I'm losing confidence in my ability to beat Lord Dredmor with this one. This is the farthest I've gotten after deciding to avoid mysterious portals.

Playing on No Time to Grind (NTTG) is harder as others have already mentioned, sadly. It takes a long time for me to clear floors.

The end, sadly before achievements were working (I think I won about a week after release). Dwarven Moderation, of course, because thats beardy sensible. I do have Dead Dread, am playing again with permadeath.

The problem is, this is like a gateway drug to nethack and dungeon crawl

Level 9 is furthest I went, and dies because I got a little too careless (read, too excited to get this far).
