Dungeons of Dredmor
some help, please :)
Hello everyone. I got the game two days ago and It's better than I thought.
I just wanted to ask some questions about many things.

I get messed up with the symbols of attributes whlch look confusing, even though they explain themselves, is there any shortcut or something that makes the item say what each symbol does?

Another question about mods, is there any mod from the workshop you recomend me specially?

RE: Shortcut, I don't think there is, or if there is one I don't know about it but would appreciate, you'll probably have to compare the symbols on items and your charsheet for a while but you'll learn most them soon enough.

As for mods, I'd recommend you play the unmodded game a bit and figure out what you'd like to see more of as there are mods that expand on different aspects of the game. For example myself I favour mods that add new rooms (like Interior Dredmorating), am most interested in mage skills and don't care much for crafting but you may like crafting and warrior skills better (again, for example).
Thanks for the advice.
I like how the game is quite challenging even on normal difficulty. It's impressive how you can die even on a trap whtn your health is full.
Giving my opinion, it's awesome how the game has everything i want from a game like this, and if it doesnt have i'm sure i can find it on the mod list. I must say "very good work" to the guys that made this game. Indies are the est!
About the symbols, to be honest I've had the game for years and I know all you need to know is that bigger numbers are better :D
Yes but if you don't use magic, equiping a tunic that gives magic power instead of another more useful stat, would be in my opinion something stupid. For example, Im more of a noob, but im playing a rogue style class, and maximzing rogue stats especially, is helping a lot. Im happy how rogueish im getting :P
Open your character sheet with the 'C' button. You can mouse over each of the symbols and they have a tooltip for what they do. As for weapons and items, square icons are for damage, cicular icons are for resistance, which will also show up on your character sheet. It's just a matter of remembering icons for damage types after that.
thank you so much for that tip :)
There is one stat that isn't on your character sheet and that is reflect magic. It is found mostly on sliver and mirror shields and appears as a purple symbol. You can smith sliver shields from the start so just look at them to see what it looks like.

Hope this would help.

Also note that whenever you skill up you gain 3 primary stats depending on its archetype.

Warrior gives you Burliness + Caddishness + Stubborness.
Rogue gives you Nimbleness + Caddishness + Savvy.
Wizard gives you Sagacity + Savvy + Stubborness.
Thank you all for your help. Those links are quite usefl.
If you're struggling, dredmor wiki is awesome!
