I also have this problem.

This is a known bug, AFAIR the devs said on their forum that they have it already fixed and it's going to be in the next update. They didn't say when the update is going to be out though :-(.

I also have this exact issue. Good to know it's being fixed, hopefully that'll be out soon.

I'm afraid we'll going to wait for this a long time - the devs are all worked up for their new project - Clockwork Empires.

This needs to be patched because it's starting to make the game frustratingly unplayable, and I have a lot of patience for this sort of thing...

Tell me about it... I started playing on windows, then I wanted to played on GNU, saved the game on GNU, and then I discovered that it's crashy. Now I have a character down on ~8 level of the dungeon that I can't play cause on 1 system it's crashy, and the other won't load the savegame (version mismatch) :-P.

Any news on this fix or the upcoming release?

I have been plaing in Linux for some time now. It used to crash a lot, until I got rid of mods that weren't skill related. You know, stuff like FaxPack and Interior Dreadmorating. After that, this last run has been great. Level 6 and no crash yet. *shrug*

Cyber Killer, did you ever get this working on Linux? I'd like to buy this, but I'm tired of buying broken Linux ports on steam. Thank you

It depends on what you mean by working. It runs, the game plays, until you open a door or step on a trap (that's usually max 1-2 minutes of gameplay until you do that). I haven't tried removing mods like jrodder suggested though, maybe that's the way to go.

The devs of this game are generally GNU/Linux friendly, so I guess the patch will be out some day.

Thanks. I'm new to steam. If a patch comes out will steam automatically install it, like apt-get update?

Yes, that is the killer feature of Steam (and Desura) - they autoupdate the installed games just like a GNU/Linux repository.

Excellent. I'll buy this tonight then, in the hope it helps a little with Linux support.

Make sure to try it without any mods installed and give some feedback here.
