Interface and window fail
That this game does not have gamepad support or resizable windows when windowed is pretty bad; Otherwise is a damn good game! I mean seriously the game is pretty much made for a gamepad and has a smooth scaling option allready. Also the game would benifit from the sales that hardcore big picture users would bring.

as far as I know, choosing the native resolution of your screen results in no scaling or window fails

I do agree that gamepad support would be pretty sweet, but they still did an amazing job with the controls for mouse and keyboard (especially coming from the old school roguelike games).

I also think they did a great job handling the screen resolutions. Sure you can't re-size once the game starts, but it has all the necessary options for getting the correct resolution. Handling resolution on 2d games is not easy, and I think they nailed it here.
