Bug reports are just humouring you.
Do not bother bug reporting, they gave up on fixing this game almost 2 years ago and the "pinned" thing posted on aug 2013 is just a joke basically. They admittedly are not putting any energy into dredmor, they have a new game. I for one will recommend no one buys anything more from this company. The very game that made them even slightly known is basically abandoned FULL of bugs. I've played many beta games with less crashes and known bugs.
I love the mechanics and still play it, but increasingly more frustrated every playthrough.

So do yourself a favour and do not bother posting in their forums, they basically tell you, ty for posting, but we are lookin to make more money on a new game, not bother fulfilling promises on games we already got your money for.

This is not the way to build loyal customers.

EDIT: I have to admit i was mistaken, just some bugs seem to be persistant now for over 2 years without a fix, but there have been some small patches... Though i do not see a major improvement honestly, i'm hopeful this will be a working game.

There actually was a patch late in 2013 -- I know I got it, and yes this was while they were focused on Clockwork Empires. For whatever that's worth, keep that in mind. Furthermore I'm sure you know that the devs have stated their intention to fix more bugs, but of course they have to eat, and selling a 3-year-old game only pays for so much. So of course they have to do something other than Dredmor. I for one, based on their history, believe them when they say that there will be more bug fixes after Clockwork Empires is released. I've played the game on and off since around the time it appeared on Steam. So I have an idea of Gas Lamp Games' record. Based on that record, and the fact that there was a patch only a few months ago, I think declaring Dredmor to be Abandonware is kind of cynical.

What bugs? and besides, not every game these days needs to be supported like they're minecraft or something. Condeming the developer just because they can't devote their lives to a game that probably isn't getting them very much money anymore is a pretty rude thing to do.

I have to admit i was mostly upset from the 15th crash today, and after some research i found there was a small patch or two since, so my apologies. I still think it's ridiculously buggy for a game tho and needs desperate patching. I for one couldn't even USE the wizardlands expansion until i bought realms for example. Every time i tried to go into a pocket dimension, crash. I even tried reinstallin it multiple times, and i did have "you have to name the expansion" too, so it wasn't that.

Anyways, i was wrong about it being ignored completely, just some bugs are around now for over 2 years after reporting, game breakers, like crashing to desktop several times a day, which on perma means lots of lost time and potential for a save corrupt.

I'll hold some hope.

ps silverfox, WELL known crashes and items spawning on top of others, spells that don't work as intended, etc.

Hmmm, well I haven't encountered any yet... if the game crashed 15 times in one day though, it might be your computer. Also, have you checked for fan patches? Not sure if that's possible, or if there are any, but it's worth a shot.

EDIT: And yes, I am new to this game, I just don't like seeing developers being dissed just because they can't fullfill every single promise they make. I already have seen too much of that with telltale and their "fans".

Silver, do not assume it's my pc, many are experiencing it. It's probably the fact that not all pcs are the same that you are maybe not experiencing the same issues, or the fact you haven't explored as much of the game yet. I have 700 hrs logged on it and i can tell you it's not in my head. They are admitted problems from the devs, not my imagination.

Simple example you can try yourself. Try using psionics' narcosometic induction... It only works maybe one out of several tries, sometimes the monster wakes the next turn, or it just doesn't do anything at all. Wait till you level up a few times and run the floors more than one full playthrough, especially if u have the expansions to get 15 floors. I'm almost willing to bet you won't ever reach floor 15 without a single crash, i've yet to have it happen.

All this being said, i still love the game, i'm just upset to have had so many permadeath runs ruined by either lag, crash, etc... and you cannot tell me that the text's aren't horribly out of sync... after you clear a zoo for example, you have to wait as all the messages scroll by.... Sometimes i have to wait 2-3 mins for all the text to scroll so i can see what piece of my equip corrupted, or what just destroyed me, etc.

I could go on, but no sense, i was given the impression by some that the game would never see another update, but devs have put those fears aside and promised some future fixes.

You are proposing boycotting of Gaslamp?

You have problems my friend...
[LL] ๖ۣۜGorbax Feb 14 @ 7:42am
A lot of people forget not all game developing companies are Blizzard or Bethesda. Gaslamp Game Studios has 7 people working on the developing end of games, two of them are 3D artists, which I assume have been hired for Clockwork Empires, considering Dredmor has no 3D graphics. All my other points were already made by Haldurson.
Sloe Feb 16 @ 12:01pm
Wow, people like to just attack ya without reading lol. I didn't propose a boycott, i pointed out an obvious fact. If games don't work, people remember that on your next game.Think of INDIE developers too, do they have a right to put out games that break every hr? i can think of dozens of games made by one or two people that work fine, or have minor lag bugs and such, not gamebreaking....
All this is moot, as i said, i was misinformed that they wouldn't update it anymore, and fanboys are gonna fan up... lol ;)
[LL] ๖ۣۜGorbax Feb 17 @ 9:00am
People disagreeing with you doesn't equate to being attacked, all the responses above were calm and to the point. I also don't like your implications about "fanboys". We're fans of the game, we're not blindly defending a game or the company behind it because of it. Like I said, we stated some facts and their grounds, or our opinions with a reasonable backing.

If any, your last post in this thread was the most biased and provoking in the thread so far. I'm not sure why you feel the need to be so defensive, nobody is railing you for making an honest mistake.
Sloe Feb 17 @ 12:25pm
You're right gorbax, being told i have problems and insinuating that i asked a boycott was right on point... That was sarcasm if u didn't notice.
"People disagreeing with you doesn't equate to being attacked, all the responses above were calm and to the point."

You and i have differing opinions on what constitues to the point or calm.
"

Anyways, i already admitted my fault on being misinformed that there were no updates in a long time and none planned, which u had not quite contested the other time either, it took someone else to tell me how things ACTUALLY are, and i apologised for jumping to conclusions based on that false knowledge. I happened to also have done this before being told i have problems, in fact i even stated i enjoyed the game. As for how many people on a team... I know how it goes, and it's entirely possible to devote a small amount of time to fixing bugs with one programmer; Some entire indie developer's staff is sometimes TWO people (edmund mcmillen's work comes to mind for example). One for art and one for programming, or some combination, but as i said, AGAIN, i was going on the false assumption that they had given up on it.

I was told no updates were to be coming and all their focus would be on a new game. Given that the bugs i'm experiencing have been reported since midway in 2012, i was a bit irked to say the least. They were not small bugs mind you, for example i could not use the wizardlands expansion (pocketdimensions crashed the game) at all until i bought the other expansion. I still die from lag outs freezing the game, then suddenly taking the input as if i had pressed a direction SEVERAL times, making me die if i'm around enemies or with some debuff like acid, or making me waste a valuable healing turn. Sometimes it'll keep walking until i hit a wall even lol.

I apologize for the fanboy comment, but to me, anyone who ignores all the valid points a person makes, and only puts em down for expecting a product to simply work as intended, is not a rational speaker and it screams "standing up for a friend" despite any reasonable argument. Had you perhaps taken ONE or TWO of my valid points; which btw, are WELL known bugs and not in my head.... Then i would have been inclined to think you were having a straight forward conversation. The way it reads, instead, is someone who either feels buddy buddy with the game's community or the developers for some reason; Not saying it IS the case, but that's how it reads.

Do a google search on dredmor bugs i mentioned and you will find them posted since mid 2012, that is what had me bothered. I was made to think it was abandoned as is, and usually a game on steam has to have these things keep somewhat up to date, even the old games from the dos days work great here.

Now for the last time, and as i ALSO added in my opening statement, FIRST post(days ago).

I was under the false impression the game was abandoned and apologized for that, over and over, can you see that or only the parts that give you a reason to vent back on me? lol

Umm... yes. Yes, you did:

What else do you think 'boycotting' means?

That is called a recommendation, as is obvious by the words "I recommend". If every recommendation was a boycott, what an exhausting world this would be. A boycott is a concerted effort, not a recommendation. Oh, and would someone who truly wanted a boycott have bought ANOTHER expansion after the first one i bought would not work? Luckily buying the 2nd one fixed the first one, which obviously shouldn't be necessary. AFAIK they don't have any other games out, so i basically own all their computer products atm.

Ever hear of beating a dead horse btw? i already apologized and said i was wrong that they weren't updating. Seems to me you didn't even bother actually reading my posts. You are commenting on part of it, ignoring the LATER stuff i say ofc, very useful, really. Harping on 2 sentences and ignoring everything else, especially the part of me apologizing, seems to me quite ignorant. Last i checked, it's common sense not to buy something from people you feel don't care, i don't know why i have to explain a simple idea like that. But the point is moot, and you seem to have missed that(on purpose obviously). I said, SEVERAL times i was wrong on that fact.

Those are the unwarranted attacks that make the internet seem like a bunch of children arguing. Do you beat someone down after an apology, or does that sound just like an angry person venting?

PS. for a "carlin fan" you seem to miss the main thing he espoused, reason above irrational knee-jerk reaction.

I do agree with your point Sloe, but it seems that 90% of the time the crashes only happen when using mods.
