When should I go to diggle hell?
I want to go and kill vlad but I don't know when I would be able to survive

That would depend on whether you intend to kill Vlad Digula or not. He doesn't show up there every time. I'd say if you don't plan on killing him, and have a way of avoiding him should he show up, then if you can handle Muscle Diggles with ease, you'll probably be fine. If you intend to kill Vlad Digula, then I'd wait until you reach level 15 and are confident that you could handle Dredmor. He's arguably a bit tougher than Dredmor.

Keep in mind that Diggle Hell itself is not that bad, but you can encounter any kind of diggle there from any part of the dungeon, plus a few that only appear in Diggle Hell. The main issue is Vlad Digula, who can be a real bastage. It's never happened to me personally, but I do understand that there is also a small possibility of there being 2 Vlad Digulas in a particular instance of Diggle Hell.

Thanks! I've never actually made it past floor 5 untill my most recent run where I an on 8. Mabye now I will wait untill a later run.

My current build is:
Mace Mastery
Perception
Master of Arme
Bezerker rage
Assassination
Psionics
Paranormal invesstigator

Does this seem like it could be a good skill set?

I would strongly advise against taking on Vlad with a character that hasn't lived to see DL15 yet.

Also does killing Dredmor immediately end the game?

It's not anything I'd do. If your idea is to go melee, and not craft at all, then I'd swap out Perception, Psionics, and Paranormal Investigator for different skills. When I take a weapon skill, I like to pair it with dual wield simply because you get a better bonus for using two of the specific weapon type (it used to be double, but I believe it's been nerfed to 1.5* now). Other skills to look at for a melee build are skills like Burglary, Dodge, Battle Geology, Communism, Thrown weapons, maybe a few others.

I do like Perception and Paranormal Investigator when paired with certain crafting skills. A variation of the above that includes these skills that might work would be something like:
Perception
Master of Arms
Paranormal Investigator
Clockwork Knight
Tinkering
Smithing
and one other (maybe Burglary or Thrown Weapons or Communism or something else).

You can also go the unarmed route -- take Unarmed for your last skill, and swap Shield Mastery for Master of Arms (or not -- I prefer Shield Mastery when going Unarmed, then I'd dual wield shields or a shield and a book if you get a really good book).

Actually if you manage to obtain at least 20 Holy Hand Grandes and a few Potion Buffs you can take out Vlad Digula (And the Lord of the Dungeon that its named for) Without much hassle.

Though my Melee Build:
Swords
Dual Wield
Berserker Rage
Perception
Smithing
Big Game Hunter
Piracy

The Strategy I went with is purely to boost Counter, Block, and Dodge Chances. I could just about walk into a Monster Zoo and have all of them die from either me or counter attacking. could switch out Piracy or Big Game Hunter for Artful Dodger, as it has a skill that makes it so Dodging sometimes Counter Attacks basically. Having 50+ In all 3 was pretty amussing.

I can tell you right now those Holy Hand Grenades will disappoint you, don't underestimate Dredmor :p
Also, don't forget that Dredmor's main damage output is magic. Don't neglect your Magic Resist

[CONTAINS SPOILERS] You can easily get to the boss at around character level 25-26, but the boss Vlad Digula has over 1200HP, so prepare for a big fight. My friend managed to get him down to 1kHP, but he died. Very fast. On the Dwarven Moderation difficulty + Permadeath. So if you want to complete the wizardland, you should have lots of potions, and I'd recommend using ranged weapons. Good luck, you'll need it.

I strongly endorse the use of Clockwork Sawblades. They are expensive but awesome.

How often does vlad spawn? I went through diggle hell 3 times without seeing him
Haldurson Feb 11 @ 4:46pm
If I had to guess, I'd say there's about a 50% chance or better, just based on my experience (but I only have a very small data set to base that on). I also know there's a chance of more than one Vlad spawning, but fortunately, that's never happened to me.

I've just reached record high, I only play perma death and do it on normal difficulty ( dwarv) reached lvl 26 last night at around floor lvl 12 I believe, I don't relaly regret taking smith cos the passive stats are juicey, however I do regret carrying all that ingot and gems, when realising in later in the game or "so far " in the game all the good items are obtained from doing quest statues/monster zoo reward, there are awesome items of course from craft, but seem to be hella hard time to craft the odd materials, any idea what the crafting is that look slike blue prints? perception grants a lot of random loot if you 2nd max it ( avoid last skill) so much that you'll get to a point where you don't wanna pick up a bunch of items. I've got dagger mastery purely to reach over 100% block and counter% with roughly 60% dodge, its kinda easy now that I hvae these amazing defensive capabilities, but prior to that it was quite a grind! atm I hit for 180 crit @ 54% crit chance :D with around 140 hp, 32 dmg reduction (phy) and probs 20% magic resist, wanted to come check out what to loook out for, since its perma death after all!
