The question of Permadeath. Yes or no.
Hi all. I am curious how many people play with permadeath and how many don't. I am curios from a discussion on another forum, and I believe that simply looking at achievement percentages will be misleading since not playing with permadeath will lead to a thousandfold increased chance of beating the game (thus nonpermadeath victories will be massively higher). I think that overwhleming majority of you play with permadeath but I have no way to back up that belief. I realize this question will still only give me the percentage of people that are also active on steam. This is also NOT to turn into a flame war on how permadeath is for real men and not playing with permadeath means you are <insert insult here> or how prefering permadeath means you are a religious fundamentalist. Just post a letter A-D or add a pertinent blurb as you see fit.
A) Permadeath everytime
B) Permadeath most of the time (over 50% but not 100%)
C) Permadeath only some of the time (Less then 50% but not 0%)
D) Permadeath hell no
EDIT:
Also include if the issue of permadeath is such that, if permadeath were NOT optional, you would NOT try the game IE if you would ONLY buy a game that had optional permadeath.

I like the thrill of taking risks when you may actually lose your character with the wrong decision. It's also more of a roguelike experience.

B) I want to play a game first on a "secure" way and later I'll try to take it out without fail-safe.

Don't you have to reload the game after death anyway? To me this game is perma-death only.

No, that's not permadeath. When you have permadeath on your save gets deleted when you die, so there's no reloading. Any progress you made would be lost.

Anyway, I guess I'm the B category. When I'm really playing the game I play with permadeath but if I'm just trying something out or messing around I don't.

B - I wasn't using it when I was amassing acheivments, but it's more fun with it on. I bought the game without knowing you could turn it off.

B - I only turn permadeath off if i'm scumming achievements or testing new builds. Other than that, it's an integral part of the roguelike experience and I REALLY doubt that i'd enjoy the game as much as I do if it wasn't an option.

I had two or three runs way at the start, when I first got the game, to get familiar with the basics, but after that it's been GR-PD for the last 3 years now almost. I wouldn't have minded if permadeath wasn't optional, though I really don't see the point why game devs would make it like that, these days. People that want permadeath are going to leave it on anyway, and those who don't, would be endlessly frustrated or use loopholes or hacks to save.

A: Never finished the game but i'm not really bothered by death in this game. my character names are aaaa, asdasgdrgd, afsss, dddd, etc. kind of pointless to name them

Some people play to pass time. Some people play with the intenion to beat the game. Some people have completely other reasons.

Me, I try to play in the most difficult way possible. Going rogue, permadeath, every time.

Besides, I like the balltingling fear of losing a character you've sunk several hours in, but it's mostly to encourage me to find the best ways to do everything,

I always use permadeath because it makes the game seem more fun, also adds consiquence to my actions like i have to think about what i am about to do or risk death i don't think the game should be experienced any other way

I would say the first B)
Second B) has to be D) ( easy fix )

Yes second B has to be D (hence the part about post a letter A-D). Very astute. Your powers of deduction are being wasted here on steam. You should be out, solving mysteries and fighting crime!
