Monster zoos are either the best or the worst part of the game, depending on how prepared you are to deal with them. They can actually be very rewarding in both experience and the occasional useful reward -- granted, the rewards are hit or miss, but the experience you gain from them is usually quite good. If you have AE attacks or sufficient AE weapons, you can actually clear them with amazing efficency.

I always explore the entire floors in the game, it take a lot longer, but i like searching through every nook an cranny.

Ever gamer knows that you need to leave no stone unturn on your path to save the day. The only time it is safe is if you are replaying a game and know what's coming next and know what to do without. Since that can never happen in Dungeons of Dredmor due to the randomness any time you don't stick your hand down a dark scary hole it might be a bigger risk.

Nope, I explore everything.

Well the run I just finished where I got my first kill on Dred, I started that in June...of last year.

Grats.

Normally, at least on the more shallow levels, I try to explore everywhere. But as I get deeper, that's not always possible. I generally play on going rogue, and at times I find that my character is not good enough to survive a monster zoo once I get to level 12 or so. If I do manage to get down to that level, and I'm feeling that vulnerable, but still think I have the killing power to kill Dredmor, I tend to rush through the last few levels in order reach him. This is especially true if I'm playing with NTTG, because the resources that I may have to expend to clear a deep-level monster zoo (with certain builds) are far too valuable to waste on a monster zoo. Without NTTG, that doesn't happen as often, but is still possible (a lot of it depends on luck, how good my gear is, my particular build, etc.).

Up until about level 12ish, though, I do try to clear everything every time.
