In a nutshell: Yes, this game lets you be a Ghostbuster, and yes, it's pretty damn cool. That said, the performance is atrocious. It feels like you need to have a certain graphics config, or have your computer built a certain way.
The game itself is very nice. Graphics are lacking, mostly in character models, but proton beams and ghosts are animated perfectly. As for the story, I obviously haven't beaten it within this release, but from playing it on consoles, I can confirm that it's suffecient. Maybe not a masterpiece of storytelling, but pretty good nonetheless.
Controls actually aren't a problem, they're very straight forward and easy to remember, but the game runs awfully. Like, distractingly so. To the point where it's hard to play for more than 30 minutes at a time without the right PC build or configuration. This is the major drawback of the PC release. If possible, play this game on a PS3 or Xbox 360. The expierence is quite a bit better there (If nothing else, I recommend a controller).
Overall, the game itself is great, but due to performance, it feels coated in ♥♥♥♥. Like I said, try and play the console release if possible, but if you can't and you're a big fan of the franchise, then go for this. It's certainly not impossible to enjoy on PC, and if you can tweak your settings and find a way to make it run properly, then it's even better.
Game itself gets an 8/10, after performance, drops to a 6-7/10.
