Game is pretty intense even on Normal.
I died a lot. You only get 2 guns but those guns can mutate if you buy upgrades but I didn't know until the second chapter.

Just died in my first 20 minutes of gameplay with this swarm of small robots. Arghh...

There're times I thought the game is "unbeatble"
But when I beat it, it doesn't feel really unfair. That why I think this game is great.

Honestly, I don't think this game is very difficult on Normal once you get the hang of it. Just remember that you can switch weapons amazingly quickly, so use everything you've got.

For example, use the shotgun for large waves of small enemies, but use the Smart Gun for ranged targets and the Grenade Launcher or RPG for "Chargers" and the like.

Intense is a pretty accurate description, since it's not hard but still feels challenging. Dying a couple of times is perfectly normal and probably expected at some point. Lovely balance.

I've been using shotgun and mortar combo. I read about it in another post on the forum. So far I think the best combo is the paralizing mortar followed by a regular mortar then followed with shotgun blasts.

i put it on easy and now it feels like an updated doom game (pull shotgun out and sprint and shoot) on easy it to easy tbh but it a load of fun

Really? I find the weapon switching and mode switching to be quite slow, as compared to something like UT3.
At the least I need to make sure I have each weapon on a certain mode before I go into an encounter, or I'll get myself into trouble switching about too much in the heat of it.

first felt like in cyberpunk Painkiller, but then yes, action got really fast and i died a lot xD quite challenging, but there is a way to break through every swarm

This game is much better than Painkiller. In some ways I think it even surpasses Shadow Warrior.

I also find it troublesome that the guns need to be switched to different modes.

It is a lot to get the hang of it, but when I finally clear a level it's a rush. :)

The second map was kicking my butt until I realized that I realized that the shotgun is the best weapon and I should be using it.

At times it does feel like it's unfair, but once you realize you can use the destructible environment and the small robots act similar to zombies you can lure them to a shocking demise. TRY IT! I DARE YOU!
