Used to like the game.
I was just in a match. Played the simulation. It depicted I would win the fire fight between two rifle users. Then my sprite died in the outcome.

I had designated focus fire with a half wall for cover.
The enemy was standing in the open.
I uninstalled.
The mechanics of the combat are too unpredictable for me to be interested.

The mechanics are perfectly predictable. The ONLY time randomness comes into play at all is if there are two identical untis in identical cover, identical stance, and going at identical speed.

Yes, that is a major rage quit right there.
He prolly will never log into Steam again, his PC is destroyed.

I used to like playing basketball. Then one day, I was playing perfect defense and my opponent still scored on me. I was like 'wtf hax this game is teh sux0rz.'

In all seriousness though, this is the first multiplayer game I've played in quite some time, and I really enjoy it. Classy folks too--- I was a little surprised to see people win (and lose occassionally) with real class. Seriously. Restored faith in humanity, for at least one day. Kudos to you all.

This game really is fun, and for the most part, fairly predictable if you plan carefully. There certainly is a bit of randomness in fair gun fights though. Sorry you felt the need to uninstall because of a lost fight.

lol

I don't know if it is a rage quit. Not much interested in the game after that unpredictable outcome happened though. I want to be outplayed not beaten randomly because the simulation of a fire fight is wrong.

When planning your turn, you can also control the AI, or where the other soldiers were last seen. You can plan ahead and see what would happen if a certain move was made and tweak your own. Very useful, and removes the "random" bit that you've been complaining about.

Even if you set the enemy markers to simulate what you think they'll do, you can't be certain thats what the enemy player will actually choose to do. You have to predict the enemy's movements and strategies. Many times I've set up a brilliant chain of comands to wipe out the foe only to get half my team killed when he did something I wasn't expecting.

Yep, it's not so much about the stategies players employ, but the mind games behind them.
