Soldiers Not Obeying Commands
Is anyone else having problems with their soldiers not doing what they're supposed to do?

For example (and this is just ONE of MANY), in the planning phase I issue orders to a soldier to move up behind an enemy (whilst moving from cover to cover) and then shoot him. Within the 5 second time frame of the planning phase this works perfectly - my soldier shoots IMMEDIATELY upon sight of the hostile soldier. But then when I click 'prime' and go to the resolution phase my soldier just stands directly behind the enemy, who's had his back to me the entire time, and does absolutely nothing for several seconds. Within this period of inaction, the enemy soldier can carry on standing there facing the opposite direction, eventually turn around, and then kill my guy - even though my solider clearly had the drop on him.

This sort of regularly-ocurring ineptitude is really spoiling Frozen Synapse for me :(

Stuck with the single player campaign because of units not shooting, even with aim and engage on sight.

I gave up on Frozen Synapse quite a while ago.
There seems no point in playing it if your soldiers aren't going to do what they're told. It's such a shame, as the game is excellent - in theory. For that reason I loved Door Kickers too!
Let's hope the devs manage to fix these A.I. issues in Frozen Synapse 2...

ugh, can't spot it again after couple of levels. maybe it was just shotgun guys, with too short range to shoot. could you publish your situation to youtube or somewhere else to document it?
Hi,

preferred not to create another junk topic and use a similar... Yet this is it, I created a plan for my unit, creating two waypoints and drawing a straight line from him to the enemy. What did I get in outcome?

1) He walked in totally wrong direction (I believe that was where I created the second waypoint BUT immediately after creating the waypoint I dragged it to the new location).

2) In spite of that there was a straight line from the unit's cover to the enemy, his rocket explode right at his position. Was it said that one can not fire rockets from 'duck' position and being behind a cover? No. Yet it happened. Sadly... But the game is still playable, I agree. Is there more, FS 2 or something? Will have a look at it, too...
