Should I get this & Act of War: Direct Action?

So I'm kind of thinking about purchasing this game during the Steam Summer Sales. Problem is that I keep hearing about all these problems that you all are having. (Assuming y'all have Windows 7). I have Windows Vista. Will these classic games run fine on this os?

In terms of gameplay this game is truly one of the best modern era rts out there, but Eugene System has already abandoned this game, I'd say it's totally worth the money but you must be sure that the game runs fine otherwise you would have wasted 5 dollars.
I would suggest you google and download the Act of War Demo before taking any risks.
