Set card patterns and deck rules broken?
Ok, it has been many years since I have played Magic table top but my first plays with the game seem to break a lot of rules in the single player campaign.

First white deck opponent drawing only the 1/1 owls. Red opponent drawing only Prodigal sorcerers. Green opponent (second boss I guess) always had the same pattern. 1/1 creature then 2/2, 3/3, 4/5 and over run on turn five. no variation over a dozen tries. If it was a puzzle solving level fine but it is supposed to be a campaign match.

Isn't there still a limit of 4 of a card per deck? Maybe its just my PC some how that this software isn't using its AI or randomization correctly. If not, how did this get by any sort of testing?

Edit: I did play the last three versions of the game. While not perfect they were nothing like this.

The duels you are describing are Encounters. They are special duels that do not follow the card limit rules. They just have a set pattern and are designed to test your deck in different situations (according to Wizards of the Coast).

Lore-wise, these duels symbolize random battles you have along your journey of defeating other planeswalkers and legendary creatures.

I thought the game had a massive bug because it is just plain dumb

ya i said the same than then i seen 4 owls come out i was like thats bull an't no way he drew 4 owls like that then when the 5th one hit i got the point that he only cast one card or what the game said "a pattern to test your deck"

I am new to card games and have found the encounters to be a nice puzzle structured teaching tool.

the encounters are also great for farming out some cards to unlock
