I cant figure out how to get by the 5th challenge in the normal game (not expansion). It is called Obliterate This. Any help out there?

Of course, it defeats the purpose of having a challenge if you're not going to challenge yourself with it.

I don't blame you for looking up a challenge if you're stuck. I looked up Reverse The Assault as the math didn't add up right -- and I tried various attempts. It didn't (and probably never would have) occured to me that a creature that is blocked by a creature that is sacrificed (RE: Fling) -- if you hit pause on the timer to do this) -- would still be blocked after said sacrifice.

This defies logic (and feels gamey) in combat in my opinion, but I guess this is magic rather than Total War and is a game rule in any case -- which there is advantage to knowing them, one way or another.

There are multiple ways to do them.

I don't remember having to block-sacrifice in the first challenge, I flung as my last move.

There are multiple ways. At the time I went the first result on Google as it wasn't that relevant to me in improving my game as it's played now.

Still, looking at now another option that uses a 2-card combo and doesn't take advantage of Dragon Hatching shows an even less likely strategy. That too seems more of a trick than a strategy unless you just happen to have those 2 cards. I dunno maybe I'm too practical or it would be more relevant if I played goblins. And, regardless of how it's solved, a destroyed creature is able to block -- cool.

I just went through it again and noted how I did it. None of it seems too exotic.

Block sentinal spider with your hatchling
Block deadly recluse with piker

Use Act of Treason on spider
Attack with 4/4 & 3/1
Fling spider for 4
= 11 hp.
