because you will only get 10 decks for the same price as getting almost twice the amount of decks with dotp 2013?

I'll never understand this market model. Buy the game now and next month will be obsolete?
I think is necessary one game release "core", and then you can buy the decks as you want, allowing the player to use them even if they were purchased in 2012, for example.

Why buy this game at all? It has no swag.

or even a $5 expansion reducing the cost for people who support the game

Why you should buy it now? Probably because you get way more stuff for your money than you would next month.

But it's like buying a bottle of 10 liters of milk promotion in the market, that tomorrow is going to expire

Exact same thing was said about DotP 2012

Would have made alot less of us ♥♥♥♥y of they just kept making content packs instead of a new game every single year for probably $5 worth of content

Awful comparison, a game doesnt have an expiration date.

Make a giant batch of chocolate pudding with your short-date milk, and it'll last longer. Did I just blow your mind?

(Chocolate pudding doesn't have a multiplayer component, so the analogy kinda creaks there. OTOH, why would you ever want to share?)

ok then, sure, so buy whole short-date milk supply and make a great big pudding and then eat it alone.
When I spoke of expiration , was saying it figuratively, and it's true, you can still play the game in singleplayer, but as the DotP 2012, the multiplayer of this game dies as soon as the new 2014 goes on sale.
just the most powerful feature of this game is its multiplayer
Sorry for my english.

I don't play multiplayer games, I like a lot of the decks in 2013. I don't see how a slightly newer engine would throw all of fun I have with 2013 decks out the window.

I cant speak for dotp 2013 as that includes 30 unclockable cards per deck instead of the 20 in dotp 2012.

but mate, I doubt there is a big difference between playing an AI opponent on planeswalker difficulty, and playing a real person in multiplayer, especially in a game where you cant make your own decks.

besides, it's all about the starting hand you are dealt (and the 10 cards or so on the top of your library) that make or break a game.

What's the MTG 14 Release date ?
Silver May 23, 2013 @ 12:50pm
mid June

DotP games are more like fighting games; the decks are largely set so the games seperate themselves by having different "characters" available in each year. For that reason previous years' games retain a life if you enjoy the decks on offer in that year. Akin to Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo or Street Fighter 3 Third Strike still seeing play today despite the fact Street Fighter 4 is available.
